Therefore, conceptualization is arbitrary, claiming to be a definite realization of one's own self-nature. Because conceptualization does not combine with other cognitions, self-cognizance itself should not be conceptualization. Therefore, for those who see emptiness beyond with no appearance of grasper and grasped, the suchness of wisdom that can be known, here, in reality, self-cognizance does not exist, because direct perception has not been established. Moreover, inference cannot be established either, because there is no sign arising from self-nature, since self-nature itself is to be proven. Nor is it born from the sign of the fruit, because the two are inseparable, and nowhere have they been established as the substance of cause and effect. Because that is far beyond the senses, and there is no other fruit than that. Since the two are inseparable, they do not grasp the substance of cause and effect either. Non-observation means there is nothing, so there is no opportunity to prove through non-existence. Then, that which makes things clear is knowledge, like the clarity seen in a dream. Blue and so on are also like that, claiming to make things clear as blue and so on, it is not possible to prove merely the name of discriminative consciousness by the reason of self-nature. Because blue and so on are determined to be clear objects that are completely cut off in the external world, so "making things clear" has not been established. Therefore, the word "blue and so on that make things clear" is the dharma-hetu of the agent that makes things clear. Since self-cognizance has not been established, its rationality has not been established. So, for the reason of making things clear, the self-evident that truly exists, in the absence of the activity of naming, it is impossible to establish clarity through clarity. Because of the fault of mutual dependence, none of them are established. Even in name, ordinary people do not discriminate, so they name without doubt about the grasper and the grasped, but where there is not even a repetition of hearing that establishes self-cognizance, that should not be said to be what is to be proven. For the metaphors of dreams, illusions, and dreams, etc., because there is no definite pervasion between what is to be proven and what proves, the reason is uncertain. Then

If the function of the manifestation of a different realm and the different forms of the dharma are the dharma of the agent, if both are not accepted, then for blue and so on, which are merely the manifestation of what is to be proven, in the sense consciousness direct perception, it is establishing what is already established. This is originally said to be the reason of non-duality, which is the irreversible nature of manifestation. Whatever this nature is reversed by, it cannot be reversed, because direct perception is visible. In this way, the function of the manifestation of blue and so on, which is being cognized by the sense consciousness direct perception, will be said to be the dharma. However, even if mere manifestation is established by the nature of what is not both, since the example of what is to be proven by self-awareness does not necessarily pervade the reason previously stated, it is only uncertain, so here, even through inference, the knowledge of self-nature is not established. Therefore, the teacher Śāntarakṣita, who speaks of the distinction between sound and meaning, and Siṃhabhadra and others who follow his wishes, believe that even in conventional truth there is no external object, so it is non-dual. In conventional truth, blue and so on are the nature of self-aware direct perception, while in ultimate truth they are without self-nature, which is an unreasonable view. Since blue and so on have not been established as the nature of non-duality, it is unreasonable to consider the wheel of the aspects of blue and so on to be the nature of consciousness. The consciousness without aspects is self-illuminating, so it is not the one that illuminates the sound and meaning of blue and so on. Because there is no aspect different from blue, direct perception does not manifest either. Even what is experienced in a dream is only at that time. Therefore, for the manifestation that is always hidden, there is not even a slight sign of knowing it by following and reversing. Therefore, inference is also not certain. Whatever is certain about the nature of the manifestation of one's own continuum through inference is clearly the view of the Brahmins. In this regard, here, whatever nature can appear, if it is not attended to, it is called non-existence. Here, if knowledge is established by knowing blue, then since it is also without aspects, it will harm blue and so on. To that, a piebald cow.
