Therefore, that which constantly contemplates with the forbearance of knowing after what, that is known as suffering in the Abhidharma Samuccaya. If it is said that by knowing after the path, it is not the path of seeing because there is no seeing of what has not been seen, then it would follow that the other consciousnesses that contemplate on forbearance are also not the path of seeing. Thus, with the four Dharma-knowing forbearances, in the desire realm, there are ten each of desire, anger, pride, ignorance, doubt, view of the aggregates, extreme views, wrong views, holding views as supreme, and holding precepts and vows as supreme, making forty in total. With the four subsequent knowing forbearances, seventy-two are attained by abandoning anger in them, resulting in the four meditations and four formless realms. Among the one hundred and twelve afflictions, those to be abandoned by seeing will be abandoned. Among them, desire is attachment by latent tendencies. Anger is hatred. The elevation of the mind due to the distinction of being correct or incorrect is pride. Superimposing permanence, etc., internally and clinging to it as supreme is holding views as supreme. Clinging to that as the path of liberation is holding precepts and vows as supreme. The rest has already been explained. The view of the aggregates is inclusive of the sixty-two views explained in the Sutra of Brahma's Net. Moreover, here, the view of the aggregates is to thoroughly abandon the grasping of self through the esoteric instructions of other tenets. The co-emergent view of the aggregates is thoroughly abandoned by that very path of meditation because it has been practiced for a long time. The co-emergent one is said to arise from the power of the habit of focusing on sentient beings from beginningless time. The thought of claiming these as "mine" gradually sees all phenomena that contradict all afflictions as emptiness, and then no afflictions arise. Why? In this clear light of the nature of the mind, if the adventitious stains have no power before it, from where will they disappear later? Therefore, at that time, that self...

At that time, he transformed into a deer king named 'Body Without Anger,' and so forth. The Blessed One said that it was due to the power of past aspirations, so there is no need to elaborate. Here, although it is said that in the path of seeing, those that correspond to the definitive aspects of the mundane manifest, those who cling to the Blessed One, with the fourfold distinctions of the apprehended and the apprehender, are inverted by the distinctions themselves, and the nature of clinging to things and non-things, etc., is born from inversion. Moreover, since they are all gathered within ignorance, eliminating ignorance is how they are eliminated. Thus, in the Ornament of the Sutras, it is also said that other than those that correspond to the definitive aspects, the state of the path of seeing is the wisdom that is liberated from the two, because it is free from the union of the apprehended and the apprehender, and because it is without distinction, it does not unite with the distinctions of the apprehended and the apprehender, and because the afflictions to be abandoned are abandoned by the defiled seeing, the contaminated do not enter another place, so it is thus accepted here as the first ground. The Noble Vimuktisena also said that the antidote to the fourth distinction of the apprehended and the apprehender is the path of seeing. Therefore, Simhabhadra said that among the four previously shown, those that correspond to the definitive aspects, from among them, the distinctions of the apprehended and the apprehender that manifest and flow accordingly, are to be abandoned by the very nature of the path of seeing and the path of cultivation, which are encompassed by the realization of the peak of the extraordinary path. This statement is not reasonable, so in these, the reason for how these habitual tendencies are thoroughly abandoned should be explained. The five verses that describe the special characteristics of these sixteen moments should be explained: Suchness and the Buddha, mutually dependent and without dependence, not allowing different names, possessing greatness and immeasurability. Immeasurable, without two extremes, dwelling there in form, etc., definite clinging to Buddhahood, without taking and without abandoning, etc., loving-kindness, etc., and emptiness, Buddha.
