Commentary on the Holy Perfection of Wisdom in Eight Thousand Lines, called "Moonlight on the Essential Points." By the Great Paṇḍita Ajitamitra Gupta. Commentary on the Holy Perfection of Wisdom in Eight Thousand Lines, called "Moonlight on the Essential Points. By the Great Paṇḍita Ajitamitra Gupta. First Chapter: The Section on Omniscience. In Sanskrit: Ārya-aṣṭa-sāhasrikā-prajñāpāramitā-marma-kaumudī-nāma. In Tibetan: Commentary on the Holy Perfection of Wisdom in Eight Thousand Lines, called "Moonlight on the Essential Points." Homage to the Bhagavan, the Protector Maitreya! He whose rays conquer the darkness of the heart, the five aggregates without elaboration; when he arises, the turbidity of mental conceptions is cleared away, and one enjoys the earth; may he, who emanates inconceivable bodies to generate the bliss of complete enlightenment for beings, the Perfection of Wisdom, the destroyer of wandering in existence, be respectfully prostrated to. He who clears away the stains of the mind and destroys evil views, who surely uproots all the branches of the entanglement of birth, the supreme, non-conceptual, complete Buddha, like a non-dual friend on the path, whose rays show how to moisten with the rain of love. Since the treatise of the noble Maitreya is not fully satisfied by the teachings that are separate from it, and since most beings have long wandered astray due to the path that deviates from the essential points of the Mother, therefore, I, who possess the treasure of the nectar of well-spoken study that seizes the essence of the treatise that is robbed by the stream pervaded by inner darkness, will illuminate the essential points, spreading the moonlight. Here, the Bhagavan certainly practiced various Bodhisattva practices, mutually practicing them, in countless immeasurable eons, and by meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom, he uprooted all the nets of conceptualization, the stream of birth, and in all the limitless directions, he saw the individual minds of countless beings of the three realms in an instant, and with supreme great compassion, he realized the other's power as it is, and the Bhagavan, wishing beings to realize it, taught the Dharma as it is.

For example, what is collected by the collector is from "Thus I have heard" and so on, up to "praise before," and "in this" and so on, and "The Blessed One said" and so on, these are not the collector's own creations, but the Blessed One's own words are explained as such. As it is said in the Sutra of Collecting the Dharma Correctly, "After 'Thus I have heard,' one should collect the Dharma." Similarly, it is explained by separation and order, and so on. This collector is the Bodhisattva Mahasattva residing in Janglochen (Willow City), who is the Vajrapani with the power of ten. Moreover, after the Tathagatas of the Good Kalpa were empowered to protect the Rupakaya and Dharmakaya, he followed after them, as explained in the Sutra Revealing the Secret of the Tathagatas, and as explained in the Vajrapani Empowerment Sutra, they were entrusted separately. What was entrusted to the venerable Ananda was for the sake of the Shravakas also practicing in the world, but not for the purpose of collecting the Dharma. Here, the Blessed One showed complete Nirvana, and the venerable Vajrapani, in order to take hold of all the worlds, desired to collect the Prajnaparamita, and thus spoke "Thus" and so on to the assembly of Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas such as the venerable Maitreya. As it is, what was heard from the teacher is also repeated, and similarly, one also hears from others, this is called the collector. After the collection, abiding in that time, because it is "extremely profound, difficult to realize accordingly, and cannot be realized," therefore, with compassion, for the sake of realizing that meaning, the venerable Maitreya made it clear with the treatise made with the words of the Ornament of Clear Realization. And what was done by the venerable Asanga was done later, this is the mistake of Simhabhadra and others, not explaining what was done earlier, this is the view of others. To this, the Blessed One, wanting to separately explain the Prajnaparamita, because he is the most supreme of all the supreme gurus, therefore with great joy
