and Immeasurable Light. Brightness. Small Virtue. Immeasurable Virtue. Virtue Increase. Cloudless. Merit Increase. Great Fruit. Not Great. Not Suffering. Extremely Manifest. Wonderfully Manifesting. Akanishta. Among these, the twelve are the positions of ordinary beings. The five, beginning with 'Not Great,' are the Pure Abodes. In these places, Bodhisattvas who have attained the grounds and those who dwell in the fruits will be born. Above Akanishta, in the place that is most connected to it, is where the Bhagavan and the great Bodhisattvas, the masters of the ten grounds, reside, which is the Form Realm. Here, there are no women. These twenty-three abodes of the gods, and the positions below and above them, the measure of their extent is known to the people of Jambudvipa. Being separate from form or having only a small amount of it is the Formless Realm of formlessness, whose objects of focus are distinct: the Sphere of Infinite Space, the Sphere of Infinite Consciousness, the Sphere of Nothingness, and the Sphere of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception. These are the four. However, there is no place, because they dwell in space itself. Like that, the sentient beings who are invisible wanderers all abide like space. Even Bodhisattvas cannot see them; only the Tathagatas can see them. Also, in that place, by the measure of a chariot wheel, however high or low the space is, the three thousand world realms are only gods and humans. This is the Three Realms. Beyond the Three Realms, there are also the Three Realms without limit, as far as the ten directions of space extend, so too are the world realms. Above Akanishta is also the Desire Realm, and below the Desire Realm is also Akanishta. In that place, the Desire Realm and the First Dhyana, etc., a thousand times the First Dhyana, etc., is the Small Thousand World. That thousand times doubled is the Middle Thousand. That thousand times tripled is the Great Thousand, called the Saha World. One hundred crore of the four continents.

The formation and destruction of these worlds occur simultaneously. Starting from the beings in the hell realm, beings are destroyed, and starting from the water wheel, the container world is destroyed. Here, when beings are reborn into other worlds, gradually ceasing, the empty container world is destroyed by the fire of seven suns, up to the first dhyana. Water destroys up to the second dhyana. Wind destroys up to the third dhyana. Similarly, each of these three destructions will experience twenty intermediate kalpas of destruction. Then for twenty kalpas, the sky remains empty. Then for twenty kalpas, formation occurs. The twenty kalpas of formation and existence, a total of eighty kalpas, constitute a great kalpa. Among these, in the first kalpa, the lifespan of people gradually decreases from immeasurable years to ten years, which is an intermediate kalpa. Then lifespan increases, from eighty thousand years and then decreases to ten years, this is the second intermediate kalpa. Similarly, the other seventeen kalpas of increase and decrease, until the lifespan reaches eighty thousand years, this is the peak of twenty-one kalpas, equal in length to the twenty eighty kalpas, thus eighty kalpas is a virtuous kalpa. Similarly, most other great kalpas, such as the shortening of the star kalpa, are also measured by the length of the intermediate kalpa as described above, that is, twenty thousand kalpas. Leaving these aside, virtuous and other great kalpas become sixty numerical positions, after which they are called countless. Conversely, there are other numbers, that is, three countless. Thus, through the actions of giving and so on in three countless kalpas, what can be accomplished through skillful means is the Buddha himself. Similarly, the first countless kalpa will obtain the first bhumi, the second will obtain the stainless bhumi and so on, and the third will obtain the immovable bhumi and so on, as stated in the sutras. Here, the Bhagavan said that the Bodhisattva will definitely attain enlightenment due to the merit of countless billions of kalpas.

For example, when studying with great diligence, many eons can be transformed. Just as our teacher became a Bodhisattva, relying on the near attainment of Buddhahood, ninety eons were transformed, and likewise, with profound union and the distinction of great skillful means, in many hundreds of thousands of eons, even two countless eons were transformed. Even in one lifetime, with few births, and even from the unsurpassed principle, it is said that in this life, one attains manifest enlightenment. Therefore, other desires are unreasonable. When the lifespan of the people of Jambudvipa reaches eighty thousand years and gradually decreases to one hundred years, a fully enlightened Buddha appears. At one time, only one Tathagata appears in the four continents, in order to generate respect in the beings to be tamed. In the sentient world to be tamed by many Buddhas, many Tathagatas appear at one time. Due to the power of the cause of familiarizing oneself with the two accumulations, at one time, in the infinite three thousand worlds, infinite Tathagatas appear. After appearing, there is no nirvana, Dharma, or perfect enjoyment. The difference in the form and shape of the emanation body does exist. Just as it does not arise for those with little merit, it is seen by those who have accumulated merit, but we who have not acted well do not see it, like the blind. After our teacher manifested complete enlightenment in Akanishta, the emanations successively and simultaneously took birth in Tushita in the hundred million four continents contained within the Sahā world, and after death, took birth in Jambudvipa, etc., until the intentional one demonstrated the teachings until nirvana. In all ways, when the Bhagavan passes into nirvana like a lamp, the accusation of how to take refuge in the Buddha here may arise. The nirvana of the Hearer Vehicle is indeed unreasonable. How can it be vast and lead to faults?
