It is called the very nature, and whatever is artificial is not its self-nature, like the temperature of water. Likewise, here, all dharmas are not without self-nature, nor is there even a little bit of self-nature. As the noble one said, "It is not said to be emptiness, nor is it said to be non-empty. For two and non-two, the meaning is expressed by imputation." These and other words express that the nature of truth is not artificial. As the noble one said, "For the non-artificial nature, there is no dependence on others." Moreover, it is unborn, because it is naturally luminous, and because there is no beginning and no end, there is nothing to be obtained and nothing not obtained. It should be viewed without mixing. Whoever sees it that way, the truth of all dharmas, all fabrications do not appear, that is the perfection of correct knowledge. It exhausts the attachment to the truth of the five aggregates, and because of its cause of non-attachment, it causes the five aggregates of the place of all clinging to all obscurations to be exhausted. Because the previous winds have ceased, and because there is no cause, the later ones similar to them will not arise. Although the bodhisattva is the self-nature of the mind of enlightenment, which is the unity of the naturally luminous conventional and ultimate, it is defiled by the stains of sudden obscurations, and those stains are exhausted. The purity of the characteristic of that exhaustion is unprecedented, therefore it is obtained. After all delusions have ceased, the extremely pure five aggregates that arise from the conventional, the characteristic of the wisdom of emptiness, the omniscient, is also unprecedented, therefore the bodhisattva obtains it. Its purity is obtained through correct wisdom, and realization arises correctly, this is the conclusion. Therefore, this should be called the abode of purification of sudden obscurations. Abiding in the conventional and the ultimate, establishing from the perspective of birth and non-birth, those arise from attainment.

When asking again, considering this, what was said is: The so-called "is born," etc., the so-called "born" means not trusting in the dharma that depends on the causes and conditions of birth, because birth and non-birth themselves are without inherent existence. Any mindstream that aims at the emptiness of all dharmas, through it alone, can be liberated from all delusions, and for them, omniscience is what is meant by the so-called "born." What is said to refute the manner of speech and conceptualization is explained by "even the unborn." The so-called "unborn" is because it is desired to be established through valid cognition, so it is said that way. The so-called "that is also not," refers to the speech of diligent inquiry and the object of speech that is trusted by mind and sound. The so-called "extremely" refers to being free from the extremes of existence and non-existence, and the three consciousnesses combined with trust and speech, here are the unborn. In this way, merely through the non-conceptualization of omniscience, all such dharmas are made to appear to it. Through the explanation of these, because it conforms to the ultimate truth of non-elaboration, the unborn is called the ultimate truth. At the time of realization, being liberated from all conceptualizations, because there is nothing to grasp, there is trust in the graspable of the unborn. The absence of grasping itself is the trust of grasping, because there is no conceptualization. How, although its own nature does not exist, does one trust in its own nature? What is said to summarize through "as it is" is: Just as seeing and abandoning cannot become an obstacle, in the conventional, if one does not examine "what and what," one trusts merely because of feeling pleasure, this is the definite arising of omniscience. The function of each stage of the definite arising of the path is: The so-called "thus it is said," etc., the so-called "what and what" refers to the place of what and what itself. The so-called "arising" refers to seeing. The so-called "unwavering" is because there is no doubt and lack of understanding. The so-called "not contradicting" is not reversing, because there is no reversed knowledge. The so-called "of these" refers to the definite arising of the path. The so-called "not abiding" refers to what is the dharma that is manifestly clung to.
