In conventional truth, one also refers to the essence of one's own awareness as terminology. Even in conventional truth, if one does not regard external objects such as distinct blue appearances as objects of examination, then that which is pleasing is determined by non-conceptual wisdom. Conceptual thought fabricates concepts such as truth, and after fabricating, it becomes the agent of applying terminology. If one cannot clearly ascertain the meaning expressed by the expression related to the expresser, that is the way conceptual thought is established. Moreover, focusing on conceptual thought itself, as well as self-aggrandizement and so on, are merely names. Because it fabricates non-reality in a reversed manner, it cannot ascertain reality and non-reality. Therefore, it should be understood that hesitation and the determination of objects that are exclusively real are ways of establishing things. For that very thing, all these external objects existing in a conventional way, and the minds of other beings, are undeniable. Due to the influence of the habitual imprints of terminology from beginningless existence, men and women, etc., and worldly people completely distinguish between manifest consciousness and non-consciousness, truth and untruth, etc., and quickly engage in actions such as embracing and striking. Through hearing and other means, one can infer the minds of others, thereby avoiding doubt. Similarly, the thought of desire immediately shows the action of verbal expression, and when it is absent, it does not show it. Therefore, together with the thought of desire, by expressing language and so on, by understanding the nature of cause and effect, at the time when that thought of desire is experienced, seeing distinct verbal expressions and so on, one infers the desire that is the cause of it. It exists in other continuums. All valid cognitions and objects of valid cognition are conventional truths, so one should rely on correct conventional truth. Otherwise, everything would be established. Similarly, just as in dreams, it is merely fulfilling desires, but it is not ultimate truth.

The realm of objects is none other than the conventional valid cognition. As it is said: Thus, the universal convention is the characteristic of valid cognition. Here, in the conventional realm, as long as something exists as the object to be proven and the means of proving, then as long as the three aspects of the sign exist, there is something to be proven or refuted. Because of the connection with the property of the subject, even those who see the other shore can grasp the sign of direct perception, and then the emptiness of the conventional nature will be apprehended. This is because those who see the other shore do not experience direct perception that is accustomed to the nature of things. If so, how can those inferences that will be explained, which harm the nature of blue and so on, be valid cognitions? This does not harm the nature of conventional objects, because it only imputes something to the object to be proven, or because it only reverses the aspect of truth. The object of the conventional direct perception is determined to be conventional, like dreams and so on. Inference harms the imputation of children to the ultimate nature and so on, but not the terms of things like seeing. That which is not mistaken is not harmed by inference, but the harm is to the imputation of truth and so on. Because there is no non-mistakenness in that, it does not become a fault of slandering direct perception. Moreover, establishing that all phenomena are selfless means that whatever arises from dependent origination is empty of inherent existence in the ultimate sense, like an illusion. The objects that arise from dependent origination and become the subject of debate are also so, which is the reason of inherent nature. Moreover, because this is known to cowherds and so on, there is no unestablished subject. From the non-apprehension of what is apprehendable, whatever is truly apprehended is its result, which is the way of following; or, whatever does not arise without the causes that have the power of existence, that is its result, which is the way of reversal, establishing conventional cause and effect, which is the conventional suchness that is reasonable.
