Chapter Twenty-eight, composed by the venerable Jigmey Jungne Bey. Sixth, Gradual Abhisamaya. In the treatise, it says, "Three kinds, ten kinds, gradual." What is said is the gradual abhisamaya. Starting from the thirty-one differences after the peak abhisamaya, in order to prevent them from arising all at once, among the ones that are shown, there are three that correspond to the part of liberation, twelve differences that correspond to the part of definite determination as before, sixteen differences in the path of seeing, and nine differences in the path of cultivation, so there are forty differences in total. For each of these differences, one should also know that there are thirteen differences such as giving. It is also explained by the Arya-vimoksha-deva: "Bhagavan, how can a Bodhisattva thoroughly understand the gradual action, the gradual learning, and the gradual accomplishment?" The explanation of "action" refers to the generation of mind, the explanation of "learning" refers to being in accordance with the part of definite determination, and the explanation of "accomplishment" refers to the paths of seeing and cultivation. By mentioning these three, the gradual abhisamaya is explained. Its detailed explanation is as follows: Giving, wisdom, pure in between, mindfulness of the Buddha and so on, and Dharma, the essence of non-reality itself, are regarded as gradual actions. Action, learning, and accomplishment, this is the meaning. What is said here is, "Furthermore," and so on. In this way, the Prajnaparamita that will be explained should be known as the gradual action. All dharmas are the six paramitas. Dharma is like this on the path, and Bodhi is itself. Non-attachment is non-obstruction itself. Bodhisattvas, for the initial generation of mind for gradual action, and so on, like this, Bodhisattvas, starting from the initial generation of mind, practice the paramita of giving, and also guide other beings to truly accept it. Through giving, they obtain a great accumulation of enjoyment, and thus practice giving, purify the Buddha-field, and place beings in the three vehicles, thereby completely liberating them from samsara.

The action of having no object of focus in all places, because it is without intrinsic nature. This is said to be the ultimate action of the perfection of generosity. Likewise, all six perfections, such as discipline, are also to be done ultimately in all six. All dharmas are indivisible, which are the six recollections. Because all dharmas are held by the mind, they are indivisible because of their nature of being without substance. Thus, from the time a Bodhisattva first generates the mind, with all the mental activities endowed with omniscience, one cultivates the Dharma-recollection, particularly believing in the nature of all dharmas as being without substance, and also establishes them well in that. Moreover, because of the nature of being without substance, after all dharmas are manifestly enlightened, there is no one who teaches the Dharma that liberates sentient beings. In this regard, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, contemplates the dependent arising of the aggregates such as form, but in the ultimate sense, because of their nature of being without substance, there is no recollection or mental activity towards them, this is the Buddha-recollection. When practicing the perfection of wisdom, one does not focus on virtuous dharmas, as long as one does not focus on conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, because they are of the nature of being without substance, thus one does not focus on them, this is the Dharma-recollection. Here, the Sangha of the irreversible Bodhisattvas of the Bhagavan, and the Sangha of the Hearers, the eight great individuals, one does not focus on the fact that their nature is non-existent, this is the Sangha-recollection. Furthermore, when practicing the perfection of wisdom, one abides in discipline that is not deteriorated and without fault, unmixed and without impurity, not disturbed by others and not confused, praised by the wise and very pure, one focuses on that discipline and the nature of being without substance, thus one does not focus on it, this is the discipline-recollection. Among them, not deteriorated means not diminished, that is, not transgressing many trainings.

Faultlessness means that one does not transgress any of the ways in which it is taken up. Unmixed means that it is not dedicated to worldly conduct. Undefiled means that it is not mixed with negativity itself. That which possesses qualities such as non-deterioration is not confused, because it liberates beings by taking up desire. Therefore, the samadhi praised by the noble ones does not turn back, because it is placed in equipoise by a mind endowed with morality. When one practices the perfection of wisdom, one also gives up wealth and dharma, that is, one's limbs and near limbs, and because one considers all of that to be the nature of non-entity, not considering it in that way is remembering conceptualization. All those who have entered the stream and the families of the four great kings, as long as they are born as gods up to the Paranirmita-vasavartin gods, all of them are the nature of non-entity, therefore there is no memory and no attention, which is remembering the gods. Thus, the six recollections are the six gradual activities. All dharmas arise

If one practices the perfection of wisdom and so forth, then practicing it is meaningless. It is like practicing the horns of a rabbit, this is a challenge. The third answer is: all dharmas are immutable equality, immutability is the realm of dharma, self-nature is without self-nature, that equality is of one taste. All phenomena of conventional truth, and the suchness of the ultimate truth of its essence, there is nothing to be meditated upon, because it will become the cause of the noble dharma. How then could it be meaningless? If it is said that there is also the nature of self-awareness and the aspect of apprehending consciousness, and there is also the apprehended, then it is unreasonable that all dharmas are without self-nature, this is a challenge. The answer is: all dharmas are without self and without consciousness, that is, the self-nature of a permanent and single entity does not exist even in the conventional, and the aspect of consciousness of consciousness does not exist in the ultimate. Where it is determined by the measure of wisdom following realization, here there is no grasper, therefore there is no grasped and no grasper, because it arises from interdependence, and because it is separated from one and many, therefore all dharmas are established as being without self-nature. That which is expressed by sounds such as form is form and so on, they exist, where is it without self-nature? This is a challenge. The answer is: only name and so on, a name empty of meaning is only a name, it completely expresses those dharmas, so do they exist in name? No, it does not exist anywhere, because it is meaningless, so there is no speaker anywhere, and what is said is nowhere either, because there is no object to be spoken of and no speaker in the body or mind. Gathering together all dharmas and so on. Without convention there is no expression, because there is none of those in these. Therefore it is inexpressible. If form and so on have measure, then emptiness also has measure, so the perfection of wisdom that focuses on it will also become measurable, therefore it is not accepted.
