Etc., one is not afraid of arising. Why? Because it has been destroyed, because the fault of distraction has been seen. One is not afraid at all times and places, because the nature of the mind is originally without fault, and for the sake of naturally entering, striving in effort does not cause fear, that is the meaning. One will not be afraid at all times and places, because naturally accomplished and naturally entering, therefore, fear will not arise in the mind at all times and places. Naturally accomplished is the meaning of holding natural entry. Furthermore, if it is not naturally accomplished, the mind will become distracted. As it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: 'The mind is bound by the object, one should not let it be constantly distracted, quickly recognize distraction and eliminate it, with that one can also gather all distractions, in each and every separate gathering of the total mind, the wise one increases from above, having seen the qualities of Samadhi, he makes his own mind rejoice, having seen the faults of distraction, he makes joy attain peace, greed, displeasure, etc. arise, likewise, he also makes them attain peace, by that which is accomplished by intention, the very nature of the mind transforms, the yogi who is accustomed to that, without intention, also attains holding.' Thus, this is the perfection of Shamatha and Vipassana. This is saying that, as previously stated, one understands the difference between the ultimate conventional truth and ultimate truth of Shamatha and Vipassana. This is saying that the wisdom is completely combined with that Shamatha and Vipassana. This is the instruction, it is saying the merit of combining Shamatha and Vipassana with each other. The mind is the Suchness in which all phenomena are without self-nature, everything that turns away from Suchness is called distraction, and the only ultimate Suchness, even though it is a momentary arising and ceasing phenomenon in the conventional, is also equally abiding. Therefore, Shamatha and Vipassana are not contradictory. With the nature of turning away from focusing on what is not Suchness, combining the one-pointed mind and correct wisdom with each other and generating them, at the ultimate extreme, they become one. Therefore, here, the nature of Shamatha and Vipassana, the conventional truth and the ultimate truth become the Samadhi of one taste.

Remaining in the wisdom-holder (ye 'dzin) is not equal here, because this itself is the instruction and subsequent teaching of this. The continuation of the instruction is the subsequent teaching. Thus, the essence of the first bodhicitta and the dharma summarized by it, the Prajñāpāramitā, does not go beyond the conventional and ultimate truths, and the key instructions for accomplishing each separately through action without object of reference, is the instruction for accomplishment, and here is the summarized meaning. For those who make accomplishment the essence, it is not difficult to attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. If that accomplishment is summarized, it is cultivating the mind of enlightenment and abiding in means such as generosity. Among these, the mind of enlightenment is the nature of emptiness and compassion. As for the five aggregates, as long as there is conceptualization in the form of things and non-things, all of that is the proliferation of perversion. Non-proliferation is the emptiness of the dharmadhatu. Speaking of emptiness is because liberation from all imputations has been thoroughly accomplished, so that the nature of suchness becomes clearly manifest in the minds of those to be tamed. Therefore, here, words such as emptiness are spoken by closely imputing to what is to be spoken, because what is focused on is the nature of suchness that is free from all imputations. As it is said in the Bhagavatī in Seven Hundred Lines: "Bhagavat, not abiding anywhere at all is the cultivation of the Perfection of Wisdom. Not abiding in any dharma, it is neither close nor non-abiding. Not thinking or knowing any dharma, only not thinking, that is nirvana, unborn, Perfection of Wisdom, dharmadhatu, the realm of non-action, and inseparable, the wisdom of the only one, that is the wisdom of the Buddha, through yoga without object of reference." And also from the same, "Bhagavat, cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom, there is no separate abiding because of focusing on any dharma. No dharma is destroyed or born. Bhagavat, for the unborn, there is no increase or decrease." And also in the Sutra of Not Focusing on All Dharmas: From where, having separately understood, any dharma is one
