In the realm of neither perception nor non-perception. Then, cessation. Then, abiding in a mind that is not equally placed. Then, entering into cessation. There, abiding in a mind that is not equally placed. Then, the realm of neither perception nor non-perception. Then, non-equal abiding. Then, the realm of nothingness. Then, non-equal abiding. Then, the realm of infinite consciousness. Then, non-equal abiding. Then, the realm of infinite space. Then, non-equal abiding. Then, the fourth dhyana. Then, non-equal abiding. Then, the third dhyana. Then, non-equal abiding. Then, the second dhyana. Then, non-equal abiding. Then, the first dhyana. Then, when not equally abiding, the mind abides. Therein, the initial progression has nine places. The second has seventeen. Returning has eighteen. Here, in the treatise, it is said: Then, entering into the Samadhi of the Lion's Play, one understands the principles that accord with dependent origination and those that do not. The nine Samapattis with cessation, having gone and come in two ways, the consciousness belonging to the desire realm, taking non-equanimity as the boundary, the Samapatti of transcendence, one and two, three, four, and five, six and seven and eight, having transcended, go differently until cessation. It is said that the Lion's Play is as it is in the Sutra. Transcendence is profound, therefore its characteristics are explained, and one should enter into transcendence. How is it done? It is said that the nine Samapattis are of two kinds: progression and coming from behind. How does one initially progress? "Until cessation" means that cessation is the ultimate Samapatti. The others are eight, meaning the previous order. Again, how does one progress? Therefore, it is said: "One and two, three, four, and five, six and seven and eight, having transcended." Having made cessation the companion, one enters into the other eight Samapattis. In the desire realm, taking the non-equanimous mind as the boundary, one ultimately progresses, that is the meaning. How from behind?

If it doesn't come like that, then it is said, "Therefore, it goes to difference." The so-called "going to difference" means going from inequality to equality, and from equality to inequality. Here also, it should be combined with "The consciousness belonging to desire, holding the boundary of non-equanimity." Therefore, this comes from unequal mind and so on, and ultimately goes and abides in the unequal mind itself. This is the realization of the peak of the path of cessation. After explaining that all skillful means will be completely perfected, it is asked: How will those who practice like this be completely perfected? If the practice causes the four sets of ninefold discriminations to be abandoned to be exhausted. The antidote to those is precisely that. Then, the Bhagavan Great Mother and others said, those will be realized through power. I will briefly explain its limbs, that is, based on the first nine discriminations. The treatise says: Brief, extensive, and Buddha, not completely grasped by teachings, without qualities in the three times, and the excellent path has three aspects, this one is the grasping discrimination, which is the object of the aspect of combination. Here, saying "one" refers to the first. The so-called "object of the aspect of combination" refers to the special object of the combination of Prajnaparamita. If asked: Should we say extensive and brief? This is expressing something else by doing the actual combination. For those who are confused about the extensive, it is the extensive discrimination. Its antidote is that Bodhisattvas should learn from generosity to powers and fearlessness and so on in many places. Mentioning brief refers to brief discrimination, its antidote is that one should not learn in any place, nor should one learn through those in many places, because the taste is the same in emptiness. The discrimination that does not exist, which is taught and completely grasped by the perfectly enlightened Buddha, is discrimination. Its antidote is to learn Prajnaparamita, starting from the perfection of generosity, up to all-knowingness.
