Chapter Six. The Difficult Explanation of the Holy Eight Thousand Verses of the Prajñāpāramitā, called the Essence of the Heart, composed by the Teacher Ratnakaraśānti. After explaining the three types of attention in the worldly meditative path, in order to accomplish the transcendental meditative path, the term "extremely pure" was also previously taught. Among them, in terms of the nature of accomplishment itself, the scriptures say: "Its nature is supreme, it does not manifest to all, abiding without object in the dharmadhatu, that is the great meaning." This means that the branches of accomplishment are five, such as perfecting all the distinctions of the Prajñāpāramitā of the meditative path, fully accomplishing all-knowing wisdom, and turning the wheel of Dharma, etc., are its nature. Supreme means manifestly accomplishing the six perfections. Manifestly clinging to all phenomena is not clinging to all. Abiding without attention to all phenomena is abiding. Attaining enlightenment through non-objectification of all phenomena is the great meaning. Therefore, the "Bhagavan" etc. are taught from there. If someone asks, what is the nature of the Prajñāpāramitā of the meditative path here? The answer is, the "Bhagavan" etc. are taught. From where all-knowing wisdom is perfected, that is called "Bhagavan." "All-knowingness" refers to the wisdom that has abandoned the connection of habitual tendencies of all obscurations, which means possessing the perfection of abandonment and the perfection of wisdom. That is, all-knowingness is to clarify its wisdom here, abandoning all the darkness of obscurations is clarity, which is doing this. This is the perfection of abandonment. All phenomena appearing as meaningful is brightness, which is doing this, it is the perfection of wisdom. Therefore, "I prostrate to him" refers to the present time. "Worthy of prostration" refers to the constant future time. Just one word shows two perfections. Now it is two words.

It speaks of the perfection of abandonment. The so-called "untainted" is because all the defilements of obscurations have been exhausted. The so-called "free from all worldly defilements" is because all the defilements of the three realms have been exhausted. These two words speak of the perfection of wisdom, that is, the appearance of all dharmas in the ultimate sense, which is the agent. The following two words speak of the reason, that is, cataract is unknowing. The opposite of that is being free from cataract, which is the meaning of the word wisdom. All means without remainder. To make the ultimate meaning of the three realms free from cataract, that is the object pervading. Afflictions and views themselves are darkness, everything is, those are also, so it is all of those. Eliminating those is the exhaustion of all unfavorable factors. All of this shows the perfection of self-benefit. In terms of the perfection of benefiting others, it speaks of the Bhagavan, etc., to be taught, because one desires to attain the state of omniscient knowledge. With the supreme words, it is to accomplish the fruits of stream-enterer and once-returner, and up to the solitary buddha. The means for those are the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. To make those happy is to eliminate obstacles. Until one has not attained the wisdom of existence, the world, and transcendence, one is blind. In order to generate those, one must manifest. Completely abandoning all fears and near afflictions, that is manifestation, which is the path of supramundane meditation. This alone shows the meaning of the Lesser Vehicle. In terms of the meaning of the Bodhisattva, it speaks of the Bhagavan, etc., for the sake of benefiting others is the main thing, and to accomplish that itself on that is the five eyes of the difference of the object, which are the retinue. With non-difference, that is the eye, because one must truly see all dharmas. There are three obstacles to universal seeing: ignorance, darkness, and cataract. Among them, ignorance is not knowing. Darkness is pitch black. Cataract is an eye disease. To make those without cataract is to completely destroy them. r

To make separation from darkness is brief, because it is common. If asked, what does it produce? Therefore, it is said, "Bhagavan" and so on. All dharmas are the skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas. Their nature is threefold, namely, the completely imputed, the other-dependent, and the thoroughly established. The completely imputed is not made, because that is non-existent as its own nature. The other-dependent is the complete imputation of what is not real, because it is the antidote to it, therefore it is not made. The thoroughly established is the dharmadhatu, because it is without beginning or end, that is also not made. If it is said that it is making true wisdom, that is not so, from beginningless time, in the mindstream, when delusion ceases, true wisdom is established. Then what does it do? It is said, "Bhagavan" and so on. Those inverted and confused thoughts, through diligent cultivation of the path, cause them to enter the wisdom of the selflessness of phenomena. Whose path is it? It is the path of all-knowing wisdom. Merely through these, it is shown what all-knowing wisdom is, that is, it is complete. That is also proclaimed for the sake of others. The proclaimed "all-knowing wisdom" is proclaimed for the sake of others, it is said "all-knowing wisdom" and so on, when the connection of habitual tendencies is abandoned, that is the meaning of all-knowing wisdom. Then, if the Prajnaparamita is producing and preventing, and is arising and ceasing, that is not so, it is said "Bhagavan" and so on, the said all dharmas do not arise, that is purity. The said all dharmas do not cease, that is all the afflictions, in the ultimate truth, there is no arising and ceasing, it refers to appearing as its own nature. Those in the ultimate truth are the dharmadhatu, therefore, for the things that appear to children, from beginningless time they are constantly non-existent, so the arising and ceasing those are non-existent, therefore, that itself holds the emptiness of its own nature. Again, after saying that those are the three natures of dependent origination, it is said Bhagavan
