Until the state of Buddhahood is attained. "Pacifying" means that even if one does not delight in samadhi and instead delights in the mind's distraction, then that is pacifying. The fault of distraction is all suffering, even up to the attainment of the uninterrupted hell. "Completely pacifying" means that during the time of possession, greed and displeasure, etc., are nearly pacified, just like suffering. "One-pointedness" means that focusing on one object is similar to weaving, so doing it in that way is one-pointedness. Clarifying the seven faults of the mind and striving to make it arise naturally is the meaning of that. "Equanimity" means that having become accustomed to arising naturally, it is spontaneously accomplished, and through arising naturally, the mind is held on the correct object, that is the meaning of that. Moreover, in the Ornament of the Sutras it says: Having fixed the mind on the object, do not let it continuously wander. Having quickly realized the wandering, one should take it back again. The wise should gather the mind inward more and more. Then, in order to see the qualities, tame the mind in samadhi. In order to see the faults of wandering, not liking it, pacify it. Therefore, the one who strives in discipline, through focusing on the mind, obtains natural arising. Once accustomed to it, there is no need to fabricate it. If quiescence is accomplished, then wisdom that engages with it will arise, namely, view, intelligence, wisdom, and appearance, that is vipashyana. Both of these are wisdom that arises from meditation. Therefore, in order to show that, the Bhagavan spoke of "However," and so on. "If" is another word particle, meaning "if" itself. "Thus" means "I also," and so on. "Saying and" means that although it initially happens in the present, because it is close to the past, by using the particle "la," it becomes "if saying." "The meaning of saying" and "showing" are the characteristics of wisdom born from hearing. "Quoting scripture" is the characteristic of wisdom born from thinking.

That. The word "manifested" is the remainder of the sentence. "Not being discouraged" means that with regard to how something is obtained, when thinking about the meaning, the mind does not become particularly depressed or discouraged, because it must be determinedly examined. "Do not always be discouraged" means that when entering the continuity of the mind, one should also not follow and be discouraged. "Not being afraid" means that because the mind is naturally hard, even if it goes elsewhere, one fully understands and collects it, and there is no discouragement. "Will not become dishonest" means that even if the mind becomes very stable, it will not be scattered elsewhere because of naturally realizing coarse things, so when making it finer from above, there is no discouragement. "That" refers to the Bodhisattva. "Do not let the mind go outward" means that even if one abides in Samadhi, it is because one abides in the middle. Nevertheless, it still tames the mind, because one sees the merits of Samadhi. "Destroying and not going outward" means that because there is no joy and desire for it, one will not be distracted, because one sees the faults of distraction. "Not being afraid" means that even when greed and discomfort, etc., arise, one is not afraid, but still destroys them, because one sees the faults of distraction. "Not being alarmed" means that the mind is without fault, and one is not alarmed by the fabrication of the meaning of what arises spontaneously, and that is the meaning of action. "Will not become alarmed" means that the mind will become upright, because without effort, there is no spontaneous alarm and upright alarm, which means that naturally accomplishing is grasping what arises spontaneously. In order to show the ultimate Bodhisattva, etc., therefore "this itself" etc. was said. This Samadhi itself is the Bodhisattva, because it is the specialty of the mind. "This itself" means that what is related to it is the Prajnaparamita and the teaching. Whoever is perfectly related to these two, that is abiding like that, if one abides in this Samadhi itself, one will not abandon it.
