After the supplication, in order to eliminate the thoughts of those who think that this is not the previous teacher, the compiler spoke of Shariputra, the foremost of the wise, generating discrimination. Because he is called Mashaari and his lineage is Sharadvati, his name is called both Shariputra and Sharadvatiputra. This thought is the discrimination that is about to be spoken. It is said by "What opportunity does he have?". Self-nature means what one possesses oneself. One's own means dependent on oneself. Wisdom and fearlessness are the fearlessness of wisdom. His power means that by nature, his power is spoken of as his habit. Generating that means generating earlier. That blessing means fully awakened. However, it means what is it. By the power of the Buddha means by the power of the Buddha after blessing. Then "of the Buddha" etc. is to show the answer of Subhuti. The expression of mind seeking everywhere is discrimination. Abiding in the nature of mind itself without showing, that is complete discrimination. Therefore, fully understanding the discrimination of mind is universal understanding. By mind means by the direct perception of mind knowing various names, not by words. Saying this means the answer that will be clearly expressed. Saying etc. there are six words. Among them, the first three words express the words of sutras etc. Saying means that the Blessed One's retinue speaks of sutras etc. Showing means speaking of existence etc. there. Transmission means going to various places and speaking to those who should be tamed. Thus, whatever is spoken to the Blessed One's retinue is shown to the Blessed One's retinue. Speaking means showing it to others there. Truly fully showing means going everywhere and explaining oneself. All these sayings etc. are not something that can be done by the Shravakas because they are blessed or empowered by the Tathagata, because they have no autonomy. This itself

Desiring to explain the cause, one asks oneself, "Why is that?" The cause is stated. When mentioning "what Dharma" and so on, "what Dharma" refers to the Śrāvakayāna and the Mahāyāna. "Having learned" refers to through hearing, contemplating, and meditating, etc. "That" refers to the Śrāvaka. "Dharmatā" refers to how it was heard. "Having directly realized" refers to the Śrāvakayāna. "Holding" refers to the Mahāyāna. It is for the sake of generating the seeds of extremely mindful recollection through the three kinds of wisdom. Dharmatā is how it was heard, and the very teaching of the Tathāgata's Dharma is called how it was heard; the similar cause is how Dharmatā was heard. "Dharmatā" refers to the similar cause of what one has taught oneself and what the Tathāgata has taught, and it is taught as the action of a person. "Not contradictory" refers to the great self of the Śrāvaka and the two distinguishing in the manner of Śāriputra, and those who have dispelled the doubts of whom. What has all of this up to here shown? In all of all ways, seeing all Dharmas as ultimately true, it is shown that the Bhagavan is the supreme measure, and that whoever's disciple possesses such qualities is constantly blessed by him. Because he has blessed them, they also correctly speak of such Dharma. Because of whom, is that one the Bhagavan himself? Even if it is taught by the Śrāvakas, all of that is the same; it is not otherwise. Then, having arrived at the stage of the pith instructions, the Venerable Subhūti, as it was said, the compiler spoke of "from then on, Buddha," and so on. The two words "Bodhisattva, Sattva" are to make one understand that it is that and that, just as "fear, fear" is called what is fear. A word is a name. Dharma is a thing. "By whom" refers to whose thing is not me either, thinking that it is constantly nonexistent. There is internal form, and if that is the Bodhisattva, he said, "I have not truly seen," and so on, that Dharma is the internal aggregates, etc.
