Although the distinctions are not stated, it is because existence is obtained temporarily. This is also stated in the Great Perfection of Wisdom Sutra. Therefore, it is said in the treatise: Namely, earth, gold, moon, fire, treasure and the source of jewels—sea, vajra, mountain, medicine, virtuous friend, wish-fulfilling jewel, sun, song, king, treasury and great road, vehicle, adorned water, sound, image, river, clouds, these are the twenty-two aspects. So, what are the distinctions of the twenty-two aspects of the generation of bodhicitta? The examples are earth, gold, moon, etc. Because they are similar to the dharma of earth, gold, moon, etc., they are earth, gold, moon, etc. In some places, general terms can also be understood as specific. The first generation of bodhicitta, which is similar to earth, refers to the characteristic of aspiring to enlightenment, which is similar to earth, because it increases all fundamental dharmas and well establishes and abides in these collections. The excellent gold that is similar to intention is similar to gold, because it shows immutability. Having application is the moon, like the waxing moon, it can obtain the growth and development of roots of virtue. The intention of special understanding is the superior intention. Having the superior intention is fire, similar to fire, because it makes it special, like fire that encounters the specialty of firewood. Having the perfection of generosity is treasure, similar to a great treasure, because it can truly satisfy limitless beings with material enjoyment and is inexhaustible. Having the perfection of discipline is the source of jewels, similar to this, all the qualities of jewels arise from it. The source of jewels refers to the production of jewels, etc. Having the perfection of patience is the sea, similar to the ocean, because it is not disturbed by all unpleasant things flowing into it. Having the perfection of diligence is the vajra, similar to the vajra, because it is hard and indestructible. Having the perfection of meditation is the mountain, similar to the mountain, because it does not tilt or shake. Having the perfection of wisdom is medicine.

Like a king, it is to completely eliminate all obstacles. Having immeasurable love, compassion, joy, and equanimity is a spiritual friend, like a great spiritual friend, because at all times and places, one does not abandon connection and maintains equanimity. Having clairvoyance is a wish-fulfilling jewel, like a wish-fulfilling jewel, because one can obtain the desired results as one wishes. Giving, kind speech, beneficial action, and acting in accordance are the four ways of gathering disciples, and having these four is the sun, like the sun, in order to fully ripen the crops of those to be tamed. Being able to distinguish and understand the Dharma, meaning, definitive words, and eloquence is song, like the beautiful song of a Gandharva, because it can please those to be tamed by teaching the Dharma. Relying on meaning and skillfully arranging words, etc., is not. Knowledge of the Dharma is not a person such as an elder to be followed. The wisdom of knowledge arising from meditation is not the discriminating wisdom to be followed. The Bhagavan Buddha is the supreme measure, and the sutras of definitive meaning that he taught are not the sutras of provisional meaning to be taught, because what corresponds to this is the king, who is the cause of non-decline. Having the accumulation of merit and wisdom is a treasury, like a treasure house, because it is the place of the treasury of many accumulations of merit and wisdom. Having the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment is the great path, like the great path of a king, because all noble beings follow it. Having calm abiding and insight is a vehicle, like a vehicle, for going in comfort. Having retention and eloquence is adorned water, like adorned water, because it has the characteristics of holding water and an inexhaustible spring, so it can retain the meaning of the Dharma that has been heard and not heard, like an inexhaustible spring. All conditioned phenomena are impermanent, all contaminated phenomena are suffering, all dharmas

All are without self, and nirvana is peaceful. One who possesses these four Dharma Sutras is a good speaker. Like the sound of a good speaker, it is pleasing to hear for those who wish to be liberated. A Bodhisattva who has attained forbearance of the unarisen Dharma is the one path of going, for he performs actions without difference. One who possesses this is like a river, like the flow of a river, because it flows naturally. One who is skilled in the means of teaching, such as being born in the Tushita heaven, is like a cloud. Like a cloud, he enters into it for the benefit of all sentient beings. Clouds and so on are the perfection of the vessel world. Here, it is known from the Sutra of the Holy Inexhaustible Intellect. Thus, from the two great Holy Mothers, twenty-two kinds of mind generation are spoken of. Among them, the first is the distinction of the characteristic of desire. The rest are the distinctions of its companions, because it is together with practice and intention and so on. In the Sutra of the Holy Inexhaustible Intellect, all are spoken of in order as eighty inexhaustibles, the first of which is mind generation itself. The rest are its companions, that is, various practices and intentions and so on. The initial mind generation is the inexhaustible basis, from inexhaustible practice to inexhaustible skillful means. Although it is so, how are eighty to be made? The tenth mind generation is combined with the distinction of the second, and made into sixty-eight. Ten together with immeasurable, Direct perception gathers things, knows separately. Show both sides and two and two, Dharma Sutra conduct and together. The two root mind generation ten, With the distinction of two, are inexhaustible. Side and five and four, Two two three and mind generation, etc. Thus, after the Blessed One prayed to the Sustainer, he himself, in order to dispel those who would think, "It is not the former teacher," the compiler spoke of Shariputra, the supreme of the wise, who aroused discrimination. Because he is called Ma Shari and his lineage is Sharadvati.
