Because it abides in the supreme state free from afflictions. "Bestowed the command" means for complete union. How is it? Please ask! Thus it is said and so on. "Subhuti" is a Tibetan word. In order to request him. "Please ask!" means to make your mind manifest. Suppose it is a request to the guru, not to the disciple, although it is so, the act of requesting itself is reverence for the Dharma. Just like that, the venerable Subhuti is abiding in doing deeds in the Prajnaparamita. Because it will be explained like this. By whom is it mastered? It is said: Starting from the Prajnaparamita. Thus it is said. Because it is the fruit of the Prajnaparamita, therefore it is the Prajnaparamita, that is, the Dharmakaya and its activities. Starting from that is for the benefit of the noble person, because it arises from skillful means, therefore it means "that which is shown by him." Why ask? It is said: Bodhisattvas, great beings. It means for their benefit. Why for their benefit? Because it is the relationship of cause and effect. Therefore, wanting to only speak of relationship, the six that want to be specifically explained become four. Then, with what nature should one ask? It is said: Starting from "From where" etc. "From where" means in between. The Prajnaparamita of the nature of attainment, thought, and meditation, omniscience is of three forms. Why is it said to be the path? Because the path is also the basis of walking. One must definitely generate joy and walk without leaving anything out! What will such walking become? Union, and the excellence of union, and the order of union, and the end of union. Do these without leaving anything out! Like this, these two words are completely showing the eight realizations. Second Chapter, Explaining the Wisdom of the Aspects of the Path. What will definitely arise? It is said: Bodhisattva Mahasattva. It means the very act of generating the mind of enlightenment.

Furthermore, the treatises say: Generating the mind and the key instructions, as well as the four aspects of ascertainment, becoming the basis for practice, the nature of the Dharmadhatu, the objects of focus and the purpose, the activity of entering the armor, and all that includes accumulation and definite emergence, are the all-knowingness of the Sage. The Sage is the Thus-Gone One, the all-knowing one of all aspects. Because he directly realized that, it should be spoken of in this first chapter. That is also ten things: generating the mind and the key instructions, and the aspect of definite ascertainment, the basis of practice, the object of focus, the purpose, and the practice. Practice is also knowing the object of what should be done. That is also four aspects: because of that, armor and entering are two activities. Accumulation and definite emergence and inclusion are the other two. Therefore, the Bhagavan spoke of generating the mind with these first two sentences. Enlightenment is the particularly excellent complete and perfect enlightenment, and to that, this intention, thought, and desire are enlightenment. That which desires to make all sentient beings the best is great, and a great sentient being is a great bodhisattva here. Thus, the treatises also say: Generating the mind is for the sake of others, desiring complete and perfect enlightenment. Generating the mind is called the basis of the name. The remainder is the characteristic. The mind truly desires, and thus it is like saying one desires to go, like thinking, "I desire to go." Its arising is generating the mind. Because manifest desire and arising are not different, saying arising is for the purpose of completely grasping the distinction. For the sake of the benefit of others, focusing on complete and perfect enlightenment, generating the mind is generating the mind, therefore this is the characteristic. Showing the independence of others is for the sake of the benefit of others, desiring complete and perfect enlightenment. In this, desiring complete and perfect enlightenment is the one with many fruits, and its object is that itself. That is generating the mind here, and the Bhagavan spoke of it here as the first nature of the ten, because it is obtained by making it independent with just that.
