It is thought to be without afflictions. Because actions cease, consciousness, name and form, the six sense sources, contact, and feeling cease, it is thought to be without the all-encompassing afflictions of maturation. Because feeling ceases, craving, grasping, and craving cease, it is thought to be without the all-encompassing afflictions of afflictions. Because existence ceases, birth, aging, and death cease, it is thought to be without the all-encompassing afflictions of birth. All-encompassing afflictions are suffering, therefore it is said that because there are no afflictions, the merit of being without suffering is to become independent. Mastery over miracles, mastery over the senses, mastery over samadhi, and mastery over wisdom. How is one master over these? In order, one becomes particularly master over sentient beings and the world of objects, and by gaining mastery over conduct, they become masters through the joy of the world, their minds become masters, and by cutting off all afflictions, karma, and maturation, one gains mastery over oneself as if liberated from bondage. What is called the complete liberation of mind is the liberation of mind. What is called the complete liberation of wisdom is the liberation of wisdom. Among these, abandoning the afflictions of the side of existence and attaining samadhi and absorption is the liberation of mind. Abandoning the afflictions of the side of ignorance and the near afflictions, and attaining the wisdom of the path of attaining Arhatship is the liberation of wisdom. What is called 'knowing' is being without fear, and there are five kinds of 'knowing'. Thus, because there is no fear of harm from hail and so on, it is the supreme group knower. Because there is no fear of battle, it is the horse knower and the elephant knower. Because there is no fear of harm from others, it is the lion knower. Because there is no fear of death, it is the Arhat knower. Similarly, here too there are four kinds of fear, namely the fear of suffering, the fear of terror, the fear of worldly dharmas, and the fear of not knowing. Because these are absent, one attains happiness in order, attains fearlessness, attains non-fear, and so on.

It is said to have obtained relief. Because there is no sorrow, reciting mantras, suffering, or discomfort, there is no timidity caused by suffering. Because there is no self-blame, blame from others, evil destinies, lack of livelihood, punishment, sorrow, or fear of death, there is no timidity caused by fear. Because one is not tainted by gain and non-gain, fame and non-fame, praise and blame, pleasure and pain, there is no timidity caused by worldly dharmas. Because there is no ignorance, doubtful knowledge, or wrong views, there is no timidity caused by ignorance. Therefore, because of being free from timidity, one is omniscient. Called the great elephant, which is the great lord. Some are those who have attained the three knowledges, some are those who have attained individual accurate knowledge, some are those who have attained the six supernormal knowledges, some are those who understand all languages, and some are those who have attained solitary dwelling. Ultimately, it is to obtain the dharma of endurance, so it is the great elephant. Done what should be done, done what is to be done, means that the accomplishment of all forms is complete. Therefore, because discipline, meditation, and wisdom are all complete, liberation from all suffering is what should be done, because it is what must be done. Living with few desires, living with contentment, living with the eye of the qualities of practice, and living with true satisfaction, etc., are what is to be done, because it is acting as one pleases. The completion of both of these is done what should be done and done what is to be done. Called having abandoned the burden, there are four burdens: the burden of the aggregates, the burden of afflictions, the burden of vows, and the burden of diligence. In order to completely abandon, thoroughly eliminate, reach the ultimate, and completely perfect, these are abandoned in order, that is, completely abandoned, eliminated, reached the ultimate, and completely perfected. This is because of completely knowing suffering, abandoning the origin, cultivating the path, and realizing cessation. Because these are abandoned, there is the happiness of no aggregates, the happiness of liberation, and the happiness of perfect enlightenment.
