Attained the bliss of near quiescence. Therefore, merely abandoning the burden demonstrates the merit of attaining the bliss of abandoning the burden. The so-called "attainment of one's own benefit" has two aspects: abandoning harm and attaining benefit. Among these, the first is the abandonment of ignorance, thereby abandoning all the obscurations of afflictions. Whatever attains nirvana by applying wisdom, that is the second. The so-called "complete exhaustion of all connections to existence" refers to the nine connections to existence: those that connect beings to existence and those that bind them to existence, namely views, attachment, doubt, jealousy, miserliness, anger, pride, and ignorance, as well as desire for existence. Views, etc., are both connections and complete connections, therefore views, etc., are complete connections. Whatever is the complete exhaustion of these is called that. Complete exhaustion is utter decay. Among these, the first three are exhausted by the uncontaminated right view. The middle three and one part of the ninth, namely the part of the desire realm, are exhausted by entering into uncontaminated samadhi. The remaining three are exhausted by the wisdom of the path of the Arhat. The so-called "mind completely liberated by correct knowledge" means that the mind is completely liberated by correct thought. To believe correctly, then what to believe in? To believe in the qualities of the Three Jewels, and the teachers who possess the three vehicles, as well as the Four Noble Truths and the dharmas of the limbs of enlightenment. The so-called "attaining the other shore of surpassing all mastery of mind," the mastery of the mind's samadhi is the mastery of the mind, everything is, and that is too. For these, the supreme other shore is the end. Reaching is going, because "Ema" means going. Because of going to the supreme end, it is reaching the other shore. Then how is it attained? Where to desire, when to desire, how long to desire, and in accordance with reason and contrary to reason, etc., through the nine successive abidings of gradual abiding, entering into samadhi, abiding, and arising.

and because of the power to prevent. If it is said that "everything also," does the noble Ananda also possess such qualities? It is not so, it is said "except for one person," etc. If it is said "except for one person," then? Saying a person is for the purpose of gathering the Sangha, because it is any one of the eight noble persons. That is also other than the Stream-enterer, it is placed outside. In order to show again, the meaning of especially showing is the two word particles "for example." What is especially shown is Ananda. The special feature of "endowed with life" is for joy, because the world wants this life. Therefore, having it is joy. Above this, what is shown is the Sangha of the Hearers, because it is a very famous retinue. Because it is a definite retinue, that is, because it is very famous and ordained, and because it always stays near the Buddha. It is not a Bodhisattva, because he is a householder, and also from here he goes to the pure realms of the ten directions.
