Therefore, the meaning of the letter A is the nature of reality as unborn. The gate of the letter Ra is because all phenomena are free from dust. Therefore, just as the sky is not stained by dust, so too is it stained by the dust of afflictions. This is the meaning of the letter Ra. The letter Pa is the gate of all phenomena, because there is no difference in ultimate truth. This is because all phenomena are undifferentiated in ultimate truth. It is also such in reality, and it is the meaning of non-existence. The letter Ca is the gate of all phenomena. Because death and birth are not apparent, this is the meaning of Ca because reality has no death and birth. The letter Na is the gate of all phenomena, because it is without name, and because there is no name of self, it is the meaning of Na. Similarly, the letter La and so on should be understood in the same way. That is the collection of Dharanis. The so-called ten grounds are the ten grounds of noble Bodhisattvas. They are the collection of grounds. They are also the Joyful Ground, the Stainless Ground, the Luminous Ground, the Difficult to Conquer Ground, the Manifest Ground, the Far-Reaching Ground, the Immovable Ground, the Ground of Good Intelligence, and the Cloud of Dharma. Among them, in the first ground, accomplishing the meaning of self and others, attaining the transcendental path, is the Joyful Ground. By this, the Bodhisattva attains the Joyful Ground. After that, this ground is free from the defilement of violating moral discipline, hence it is the Stainless Ground. Why? In this ground, relying on the non-decline of Samadhi, the Dharma appears, hence it is the Luminous Ground. Why? In this ground, the firewood of afflictions is burned by the aspects of enlightenment, hence it is the Luminous Ground. Why? In this ground, the transcendental ignorance and the knowledge of truth contradict each other, and it is difficult to subdue, hence it is the Difficult to Conquer Ground. Why? In this ground, because of the ability to skillfully distinguish dependent origination, the bliss without attachment called Prajnaparamita manifests and abides, hence it is the Manifest Ground. Why? In this ground, with the aspects of enlightenment, truth, and dependent origination as the object of focus, abiding in the signless, with effort, hence it is the Far-Reaching Ground. Why?
