It completely purifies the fields. It fully ripens sentient beings. It attains perfect omniscience. It turns the wheel of Dharma excellently. It establishes sentient beings in the three vehicles and completely liberates them from samsara. Thus, giving ultimately accomplishes its purpose, yet it does not fixate on that or on sentient beings. Thus, this has no inherent existence; whatever has no inherent existence is without substance. This is the ultimate activity of the perfection of giving. Similarly, the six, such as discipline, are also the ultimate activities of the six perfections. Because all dharmas are indivisible, one should recollect the perfection of wisdom. What are called all dharmas are the six recollections. How are these dharmas? Because they hold the mind. Furthermore, merit is also called dharma in the world, and that too is the merit arising from cultivation. The indivisibility of all dharmas is the equality of non-difference, because it is the nature of non-substantiality. Recollecting it is as before. Thus, the bodhisattva initially relies on generating the mind of enlightenment, and with a mind endowed with all-knowing wisdom, he believes in the dharmas of non-substantiality and cultivates the six recollections. He himself cultivates them, and he also places others in them. He also praises and agrees with those who practice them. When they cultivate them in this way with the nature of non-substantiality, they perfect the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, up to all-knowing wisdom, and after realizing all dharmas with that nature of non-substantiality, from turning the wheel of Dharma onwards, they accomplish the complete maturation of sentient beings. Thus, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, is not the aggregates such as form, not the marks and signs, not the aggregates such as discipline, not the ten powers, not fearlessness, not separate correct knowledge, not great compassion, not great love, not non-

It is not the eighteen dharmas that follow. One does not attend to dependent arising and so forth. Why is that? Because those are of the nature of non-entity. This, without mindfulness and without attention, is the recollection of the Buddha. When one practices the Perfection of Wisdom, one does not attend to virtuous dharmas, nor to conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, because those are of the nature of non-entity. This non-attention is the recollection of the Dharma. Whatever community of noble disciples of the Blessed One, the four types of persons and the eight great persons, are without inherent existence; whatever dharma is without inherent existence is non-existent. This non-attention is the recollection of the Sangha. When one proceeds in the Perfection of Wisdom, having remained in morality that is unblemished, unbroken, unmixed, not supreme, endowed with power, praised by the wise, and having attained absorption in meditative stabilization, one attends to morality as being without entity. This attention is the recollection of morality. When one practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if one gives away all possessions, Dharma, limbs, and all parts of oneself, one should attend to it as being of the nature of non-entity. This non-attention is the recollection of generosity. When one practices the Perfection of Wisdom, those gods who are born in the continuum from the retinue of the Four Great Kings up to the realm of Others' Mastery are non-existent; they are of the nature of non-entity. This attention in recollection is the recollection of the gods. This is the sixth recollection, the activity that gradually leads to the six recollections. Since all dharmas are without arising, one should accordingly know the Perfection of Wisdom, because the dharmas that hold their own characteristics, namely the aggregates, elements, sense-sources, factors of enlightenment, perfections, and up to omniscient wisdom, are all dharmas. The phrase "since those are without arising" means because of knowing that there is no arising. One should know the activity that gradually leads to it; arising

Absence of inherent existence is the nature of non-arising. Thus, those are the nature of non-existence. Whatever lacks inherent existence is without substance. When practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, one first relies on generating the mind of enlightenment, develops faith in the dharmas of the nature of non-substantiality, and meditates from the four mindfulnesses, the four correct abandonments, up to the state of omniscience. Having correctly realized the dharmas of the nature of non-substantiality, one turns the wheel of Dharma and completely liberates beings from samsara through the three vehicles. This is the ultimate activity of the dharmas being of the nature of non-substantiality, which is the thirteenth teaching. After that, the opponent should examine and answer for themselves. If one meditates on the Perfection of Wisdom and so forth with the nature of non-substantiality, then that meditation is fruitless, like a horse's horn, this is the opponent's statement. The answer is given that all dharmas are unchanging and without equal, and so forth. Unchanging is the Dharmadhatu. Equal to that are all dharmas. It is not merely by not meditating, but by focusing on the Dharmadhatu, that it becomes the cause of the noble ones. If that itself is called the Dharmadhatu, then it becomes fruitless. By individual self-awareness, are there not a self and consciousness? Therefore, because there is grasping, there is also what is grasped. Therefore, it is unreasonable to say that all dharmas are non-substantial, this is the opponent's statement. The answer is given that all dharmas are without self and without consciousness, understood through wisdom, and so forth. As for what is called without self and without consciousness, because it is separated from the characteristic of self, it is the aspect of selflessness. Because it is separated from the grasper and the grasped, it is without consciousness. Understanding through wisdom means believing through valid cognition. The self is known to be of a permanent, singular nature, but form and so forth are not like that. Therefore, the state of selflessness is established. Also, because of being separated from the grasper and the grasped,
