etc. Likewise, the emanation of the Tathagata performs the actions of that emanation for the sake of whose benefit it emanates, yet it does not discriminate about those actions. Similarly, when a Bodhisattva cultivates the Perfection of Wisdom, he does not discriminate; that is the antidote. Discrimination is the discrimination of this action. The Blessed One said, "Like this," etc., until the end of the chapter. For whose benefit, if a form of birth is made from a wooden wheel, it performs that action, but there is no discrimination. Similarly, a Bodhisattva cultivates for the sake of enlightenment, and although he attains enlightenment, he has no discrimination about cultivation, etc.; that is the antidote. Discrimination about enlightenment is discrimination about the fruit of action. The chapter that closely illustrates the mind like an illusion is the chapter on illusion. The commentary on the difficult points of the Holy Eight Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom, composed by the teacher Ratnakaraśānti, called "Supreme Essence," the twenty-sixth chapter is complete. The completion of the chapter on illusion is that after the first discrimination of what is apprehended is spoken, the other three discriminations are to be spoken in the chapter on the essence. Therein, with regard to the second discrimination of what is apprehended, the scripture says: "Because of falling into existence and peace, inferior discrimination, and the absence of grasping, the aspect of the path is incomplete, moving by the cause of others, the purpose of the action is reversed, short-lived and diverse, dwelling and entering and delusion, following after, these nine discriminations are the nature of the opposite side, arising from the mind of the Hearers, etc." It is said that the faults of inferior discrimination, etc., are to be abandoned by the Bodhisattva, because the nine aspects are the basis of the opposite side, because they arise from the mind of the Hearers, etc., therefore they are to be abandoned. This is what is said from "Then the venerable Śāriputra" to "practicing the Perfection of Wisdom." One of them is what Śāriputra said, and one is Subhūti.

沃(or)说。

Or said. Then three are by the son of the gods. Again, four are by Rabjor. The antidote to this should be stated; from its reversal, it becomes conceptualization. As for what is called "Alas, Essence," the sound of "Alas" is joy. The extraordinary fruit, the perfectly complete and perfect enlightenment, is the essence here, practiced for the sake of the Bodhisattva. What is that? He spoke of "What," and so on. I have spoken here of knowing the Prajnaparamita and the two selflessnesses. To practice that is to have no great weariness of samsara and no great joy in nirvana. Because those two are not perceived. Therefore, this is an antidote because it leads to unsurpassed enlightenment. Otherwise, one falls into samsara through the five perfections, or one attains nirvana by knowing the selflessness of persons. Therefore, without the Prajnaparamita, a Bodhisattva will not obtain the name Bodhisattva. For example, even if the son of a wheel-turning king is well-enthroned, if he is without the seven precious things, he does not have the name of a wheel-turning king. This is a conceptualization of discrimination and inferiority. Because of going, it is the essence, because karma makes one realize the Dharma, which means it is easy to attain. The opposite of that is not the essence, it is the nature of being difficult to attain. Therefore, practicing the Paramita that is difficult to attain is practicing the Prajnaparamita. It has the power to completely hold them. For example, a man holding a weapon seizes a woman on a road in a city where there is no one else. This is the antidote. Otherwise, it becomes easy to attain; this is the conceptualization of not having complete holding. From what is said between "Desire" and "Should be known," why is prostration done? It is because of accomplishing everything, and because of not being turned by other conditions, and because of not deviating from what is to be done. This is what is said by all such as "What," and manifest realization is the Paramita.

It is to strive diligently with the five. Here, "practice" means knowing the two kinds of selflessness. Therefore, "profound" means the antidote. Not practicing in this way, the aspect of the path becomes incomplete, thus it is easy to be seized by demons and the like, just as one who has not put on armor is seized by the enemy in battle. This is the conceptualization of the incomplete aspect of the path. In "even if practicing in that way," etc., the word "what" should also be added here. "In that way" means practicing the perfections, with the Perfection of Wisdom as the main one. "Practicing in that way" means the meaning. What will that become? It is said "the ultimate truth," etc. Just as a wheel-turning king is a great sovereign, and therefore follows the king of the city, so the Perfection of Wisdom is the sovereign, and therefore does not fixate on samsara and nirvana. Just as those perfections do not fall into samsara, so the wisdom of selflessness of persons does not directly realize nirvana. If the Perfection of Wisdom, which is the sovereign, does not exist, then the inferior enlightenment will not be directly realized. In these terms, etc., "this" refers to what will be explained. That is what is said, "of all dharmas," etc. "Not directly realize" means why? Because the purpose does not turn back. The purpose is to desire to attain perfect and complete enlightenment. Why does it not turn back from that? Because as long as one does not turn back from the Perfection of Wisdom, one will continue to practice on that sole meaning. Others are also not considered not practicing, because they are included within it. For example, all springs merge into a great river, and then flow into the great ocean without turning back. This is the conceptualization of the purpose turning back. These nine conceptualizations are also combined from the Great Mother Perfection of Wisdom, from the perspective of the completeness of their own meaning. Therefore, the temporary and various conceptualizations are explained in this way.
