Returning to emptiness with its own characteristics, that is the meaning. Knowing whether the mind is collected or scattered is the fourth. Quoting "inexhaustible aspect" etc. from the scriptures is explained in the Great Mothers. This refers to immeasurable, countless, and inexhaustible. The explanation of the mind's immeasurability and inexhaustibility is mentioned in other sutras, such as "Subhuti" etc. How is it like that? This is a question. The answer from Subhuti etc. is like this. The meaning of blessing is that it has never disappeared from the eyes, and the nature of Dharma is from the beginning without beginning or end. Therefore, the nature of conditioned phenomena does not exist, so there is no birth or death. No place and no support mean that there is no function of the six senses there. Because it is countless, it is immeasurable. Because it is inexhaustible, it is not exhausted. What is it based on? It is based on blessings etc. Just like space etc., how space is immeasurable and inexhaustible, so is the mind. Subhuti, like this etc. is a summary. Knowing the immeasurable and inexhaustible is the fifth. Saying immeasurable and inexhaustible is to include the meaning of what is not said. Therefore, completely knowing afflictions and non-afflictions, knowing shrinking and complete grasping, knowing defilements and non-defilements is completely grasped. Among them, the first two, "Furthermore, Subhuti" etc., speak of afflictions and non-afflictions. Complete affliction is affliction. What is stained by the Dharma of affliction is complete affliction. No complete affliction is no complete affliction. Because of all the afflictions, therefore there is no place, the Dharma nature of the mind does not truly exist there, because those are temporary. Self-luminous etc., the Dharma nature of the mind itself is luminous, it is without impurity. This is knowing that the mind is not completely afflicted, it is the sixth. Furthermore, Subhuti etc.

English

The two "is" words speak of the second. The so-called "unfounded and withered," unfounded means without a place. Unfounded itself is withered. The withered mind has no self-nature, because the self-nature of the mind has no birth and no cessation. It is not to be grasped, because those minds are not to be grasped. Ungraspable means not to be grasped. The word "extreme" is merely a negative meaning. It refers to entering or being born. This is knowing the mind is withered and ungraspable, which is the seventh. Furthermore, the two words "Subhuti" speak of the third. No self-nature means no thing, and no thing means no self-nature. These cause the mind to leak, hence they are leaks, which is to universally conceive of what is non-existent. Being associated with this, it is with leaks. Why is this so? Because the universal conception of what is non-existent is the conception of desire, form, and formlessness. The so-called "state of no thing," etc., no thing is emptiness. Having such a state in this, it is called such, therefore it is spontaneously accomplished. In the existence of desire, form, and formlessness, because of being separated from leaks. Therefore, it is said to be separated from leaks. This is knowing the mind with and without leaks, which is the eighth. The so-called "with attachment, etc.," means knowing with assembly, knowing without attachment, knowing with anger, knowing without anger, knowing with ignorance, and knowing without ignorance. Among them, the so-called "Subhuti, furthermore," etc., the first two sentences speak of the so-called "mind with attachment," etc. The mind with attachment is not the self-nature of the mind, therefore without attachment means the meaning of with attachment. The so-called "separation of the mind," etc., separation means emptiness. That is not with attachment, that itself is the meaning of without attachment, this is knowing the mind with and without attachment, which is the ninth. Furthermore, the so-called "Subhuti," etc., two sentences speak of

It is easy to understand these. This is knowing the mind with hatred and without hatred, this is the tenth. Furthermore, the two words "Subhuti" and so on indicate the third, which is knowing the mind with ignorance and without ignorance, this is the eleventh. As stated in the scriptures: "Vast, become vast, uninterrupted." Vast is broad, that is, the place that takes all of the desire realm as its object, and so on. Become vast is taking form as its object, because the form realm is superior to the desire realm. Taking the formless as its object, and taking it as an object in three ways and not taking it as an object is immeasurable. Therefore, in the Great Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, it is said that knowing three things is: knowing that the mind is vast, knowing that the mind has become vast, and knowing that the mind is immeasurable. World Honored One, here, because of immeasurability, it is not said, summarized, and connected to "relying on this." Vast and not vast, become vast and not become vast, and immeasurable, here there are three kinds of knowing: knowing the vast and not vast mind, knowing the become vast and not become vast mind, knowing the immeasurable mind. Furthermore, Subhuti, in the first two words spoken by the Tathagata, not fully possessing is vast. Negating possessing it is the way of not possessing. Because of negating each following, it belongs to the category of not fully possessing, this is the Dharma nature, therefore it is not vast. The mind that is said not to decrease, etc., not decreasing is without decreasing, therefore it is not not vast. Not increasing is without increasing, therefore it is not vast. Without liberation is not particularly changing, therefore it is not vast and not not vast. Because there is no liberation, it is only without change. The mind is the Dharma nature of the mind. This is knowing the mind is not vast, this is the twelfth. Furthermore, in the two words Subhuti and so on, coming is
