It is also the same until it becomes the stage of "abiding." "Completely pacifying" means that during the time of possessing it, greed and displeasure, etc., are pacified, just like suffering. "Single-pointedness" refers to focusing on one object, similar to weaving, and doing it in such a single-minded way is single-pointedness. "Clarifying through the seven faults of the mind and striving to make it arise naturally" is the meaning of that. "Equanimity" means that having become accustomed to arising naturally, it is spontaneously accomplished, and because it arises naturally, the mind is held on the correct object, that is the meaning of that. As it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Having fixed the mind on the object, do not let it continuously wander. Having quickly realized the wandering, one should again apply it to that. The wise should gradually gather the mind inward. Then, in order to see the qualities, subdue the mind in samadhi. In order to see the faults of distraction, one should pacify the displeasure towards it. Therefore, the diligent guardian, through manifestly fabricating the mind, obtains natural arising. Once accustomed to it, there is no need to fabricate. If calm abiding is accomplished, wisdom that engages with it will arise, namely, view, intelligence, wisdom, and appearance, which is insight. Both of these are wisdom arising from cultivation. Therefore, in order to show it, the Bhagavan spoke of 'however,' etc. 'If' is another conjunction, meaning 'if indeed.' 'Like this' refers to 'I again,' etc. 'Saying and' means that although it initially occurs in the present, because it is close to the past, by adding the suffix 'and,' it becomes 'if said.' 'The meaning of saying and teaching' is the characteristic of wisdom arising from hearing. 'Quoting scripture' is the characteristic of wisdom arising from thinking. 'Manifestly done' is the remainder of the sentence. "The mind not shrinking" means that in contemplating the meaning of how it was obtained, the mind does not particularly diminish, does not shrink, in order to ascertain it at that time. "Not completely shrinking" refers to the mind.

Also, do not follow continuously, and do not be timid. The so-called "not being afraid" is because the nature of the mind is pure. Even for a mind that has wandered outward, one can fully know and gather it back without feeling weary. The so-called "not becoming coarse" means that even if the mind becomes very stable, it will not scatter outward due to the coarse realization of its nature, but will become increasingly refined without feeling weary. The so-called "that" refers to a Bodhisattva. The so-called "the mind not turning outward" means abiding in samadhi, but still being in an intermediate state. Even so, one must tame one's own mind, because one can see the merits of samadhi. The so-called "not abandoning and turning outward" means that there is no attachment or clinging to samadhi, so there will be no distraction, because one can see the faults of distraction. The so-called "not being afraid" means that even if greed and displeasure arise, one will not be afraid, but will still subdue them, because one can see the faults of distraction. The so-called "not being alarmed" means that for any action that arises naturally from the faultless nature of the mind, one will not be alarmed, and this is the meaning of "doing." The so-called "not being alarmed" means that the mind will become upright, and there will be no causeless alarm or upright alarm, because self-accomplishment is natural arising, and this is the meaning of "holding." In order to show the Bodhisattva of true meaning, etc., the words "this is it" and so on are spoken. This samadhi is the Bodhisattva, because it is the excellence of the mind. The so-called "this is it" means that what corresponds to this is the Prajnaparamita and the instruction. If one is fully in accordance with these two, it is "abiding in this," and abiding in this samadhi will not abandon this samadhi, which is the sequential teaching connected with the instruction. Therefore, after generating such a mind, from "from that time on" and so on, up to the instruction and sequential teaching, it is to teach for practice, that is, how a beginner should practice the Prajna.
