From "If the Blessed One says how," to all that is said between "abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom and fully holding the Perfection of Concentration." Here, the treatise explains what is included between the Perfection of Wisdom and the Perfection of Concentration. Then, it is said, "Having entered into the Lion's Arising Samadhi, one contemplates in accordance with the principle of dependent arising and the non-conforming principle." It means that although the content is slightly less, one should understand its meaning. Starting from "Then," after a little less content in the six sets of six dharmas, (the sutra says) that the Bodhisattva, having entered into the Lion's Arising Samadhi, individually observes dependent arising as it is. "Non-conforming principle" means contrary to the principle. The Lion's Arising Samadhi is also taught after the six sets of six dharmas, and after that, the Sudden Transcendence Samadhi is taught. Sudden Transcendence is the path of practice. Regarding this, the treatise author says, "In the nine attainments with cessation, having gone and come in two forms, the consciousness belonging to the desire realm, holding the boundary of non-equal placement, the attainment of sudden transcendence, one, two, three, four, and five, six, seven, and eight having transcended, goes differently until cessation." It means that "is" is the remaining part. How is it the remaining part? It is going back and forth in nine attainments in two forms. How does one go back and forth in nine attainments? It is until cessation. Taking cessation as the end point refers to the four concentrations, the four formless concentrations, and the attainment of cessation. This is one way of going. The Blessed One said, "Subhuti, what is the Sudden Transcendence Samadhi of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva?" From here, to all that is said between "having attained and abiding in the cessation of perception and feeling." So, how is it considered going back and forth in nine attainments? It refers to one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and eight related to cessation, until transcending these eight concentrations. The consciousness belonging to the desire realm, holding the boundary of non-equal placement.

The so-called "going" means going to the ultimate of the mind that has not entered into Samadhi. That is the second going, that is, from rising from the Samadhi of Cessation, from entering the first Dhyana, to abiding in the mind that has not entered into Samadhi after rising from the Samadhi of Cessation. Here, the eight Samadhis are entered into after each cessation. As for the ninth, one cannot enter into Samadhi, because it is unreasonable to arise from cessation to cessation. Therefore, due to proximity and force, one first enters into the Sphere of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception, and then rises from it, enters into Cessation, and after rising from it, abides in the mind that has not entered into Samadhi. This is the completion of the two goings. The so-called "coming" refers to the nine Samadhis, which are the same as coming from where one has gone to abide in the mind that has not entered into Samadhi. If you ask what it has become like? Going differently means going in different kinds, that is, changing from not entering Samadhi to not entering Samadhi, and from entering Samadhi to not entering Samadhi, which means transferring. For this word "coming", add also "consciousness belonging to the desire realm, holding the boundary of non-equanimity". Therefore, after rising from the first Dhyana, one abides in the mind that has not entered into Samadhi. In this way, after the two goings, there is one return, that is, from rising from the mind that has not entered into Samadhi and entering into Cessation, to abiding in the mind that has not entered into Samadhi after rising from the first Dhyana, which is one return from the two goings. If you ask, if the Samadhi of Transcendence is Samadhi, how is it not contradictory to the mind that has not entered into Samadhi? Because the one who enters Samadhi transfers to entering Samadhi is approximate, there is no contradiction. As the Sutra says, the function of this Samadhi is what is said from that Samadhi of Transcendence to obtaining it. Thus, after showing the path of meditation, the thirty-six things to be abandoned by meditation will be spoken.
