That's it. After that, the special characteristics are declared in six sets of six aspects. After that, what are the two skillful means, also in order, combining the fifth and sixth into six aspects, is abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom. The last shows the benefits of armor practice. Therefore, the treatise author says: The six kinds of generosity, etc., with their respective summaries, what is the armor practice, is truly explained in six sets of six aspects. What is said as "the six kinds of generosity, etc.," is from generosity to wisdom. "Respective" refers to each one. Summarizing them means abiding in all. What is the nature of the practice of great armor, is the armor practice, Just as the sutra says in six sets of six aspects. Having explained the armor practice, the entering practice will be explained, and on this, the treatise author says: Meditation, formless generosity, etc., the path and loving-kindness, etc., endowed with no object, the three circles are completely pure, for the sake of what is to be done and the six superknowledges, in the manner of all-knowing, the entering practice, the Great Vehicle, should be known as climbing. Thus it is said, the beginning of going is the entering practice. That itself is climbing the nature of the Great Vehicle path. That is also from meditation and formlessness, up to all-knowing. Therefore, there are nine kinds. In the sutra, "Shariputra said," etc., is Shariputra's question. "So-and-so said," etc., is the answer. Separated from desires, because it is separated from the desires of afflictions, and does not cling to the desires of things. Separated from sinful non-virtuous dharmas, the afflictions of desire are the cause of desire, caused by the misdeeds of body, speech, and mind. Having investigation and analysis, because it is fully equipped with investigation and analysis, which are the antidotes to desire. Born from solitude, is born from being separated from desires. Joy and happiness, is accomplishing the things of desire, body and mind are extremely tamed.

of joy and happiness. "Having cultivated the first dhyana" means entering into samadhi. "Abiding" means experiencing it oneself. Similarly, the second dhyana refers to the cessation of investigation and analysis, inner purity, focusing the mind on one object, the second dhyana without investigation and analysis is cultivated and abided in. That, refers to the yogi himself. Seeing that investigation and analysis are faults that disturb the mind, one turns back from them and holds the mind upright. "Cessation of investigation and analysis" means by the power of samadhi. "Focusing the mind on one object" means that investigation and analysis do not arise continuously. "Without investigation and without analysis" means because of completely and utterly abandoning them. The third dhyana refers to, that being free from attachment to joy, abiding in equanimity with mindfulness and awareness, the body experiencing happiness, the noble ones say that is having mindfulness, acting in happiness, is equanimity. "Free from attachment to joy" means that it is reasonable. "Is equanimity" means because of abandoning the joy of investigation and analysis. "With mindfulness and awareness" means, because having cultivated wisdom many times, not distinguishing the state of joy. "Happiness" means the happiness of feeling and the happiness of extreme pliancy, and the happiness of extreme pliancy. "Of the body" means the physical body and the mental body. "Noble ones" means Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Between "abiding in happiness", this is precisely the meditator, this, is the remainder. "Fourth" refers to, that having abandoned happiness, suffering has also been abandoned long ago, joy and displeasure have ceased, there is neither suffering nor happiness, the fourth dhyana of equanimity and pure mindfulness is cultivated and abided in. Among them, abandoning happiness is the fourth dhyana. Suffering is the second dhyana.

Therefore, the phrase "from the beginning" is mentioned. Joy belongs to the third dhyana. Displeasure belongs to the second dhyana. One should follow the phrase "from the beginning." Equanimity here is feeling, neither suffering nor happiness. Therefore, it is said that there is neither happiness nor suffering. "With equanimity and complete purity of mindfulness," etc., are for the sake of attaining extreme purity here. So, the first dhyana has five branches: conceptualization and analysis are the branches of antidotes. Joy and happiness are the branches of benefit. Single-pointedness of mind is the branch of the abode of those two. The second dhyana has four branches: inner purity is the branch of antidote. The remaining branches are the same as before. The third has five branches: equanimity, mindfulness, and awareness are the branches of antidotes. Happiness is the branch of benefit. The rest is the same as before. The fourth has four branches: complete purity of equanimity and complete purity of mindfulness are the branches of antidotes. Neither suffering nor happiness is the branch of benefit. The rest is the same as before. In terms of the formless, similarly, "the sphere of infinite space," etc., are taught. They completely transcend the perception of form in every way, the perceptions of obstruction disappear completely, and since one does not attend to various perceptions, it is "infinite space." That is, having attained the sphere of infinite space, one abides in it. The perception of form is the perception of blue, yellow, etc. Not being attached to those is completely transcending those, because by completely meditating on the perception of space, there is no appearance. The perception of obstruction is the perception of the obscuration of walls, fences, etc. Various perceptions are the perceptions of mansions, gardens, mountains, rivers, the moon, the sun, etc. "Infinite space" refers to one who has an object of focus on the sphere of infinite space, that is what is called "infinite space." They completely transcend the sphere of infinite space in every way.
