From "action" to "will have faith in this" is all that was said. This is also to obtain the negation of going through the means of non-appearance, which is the act of going. This is the characteristic of acting. Saying this is the conclusion. Therefore, in order to know the characteristics of self-nature. The signs and characteristics of afflictions, discordant sides and antidotes, solitude and difficulty and certainty, what is to be done and non-appearance, manifest clinging and prohibition, and what is called the object, discordant unobstructedness and that, baseless, unborn, ungoing, suchness is non-appearance, the essence of sixteen self-natures. By illustrating with examples, it is the view of four characteristics. Thus it is said, being separated from afflictions is a request, from "Bhagavan" to "will become the nature of solitude," the self-nature of the solitude of afflictions is spoken. The sign is the sign of afflictions, being separated from those is, from "Whoever Subhuti" to "in a way becomes the nature of solitude," the self-nature of the solitude of the sign of afflictions is spoken. The characteristics of afflictions are grasping, etc., being separated from those is, from "Whoever Subhuti" to "characteristics will become the nature of solitude," the self-nature of the solitude of the characteristics of afflictions is spoken. Discordant sides and antidotes are desire, etc., and non-desire, etc., being separated from those is, from "Whoever Subhuti Bodhisattva Mahasattvas are separated from desire and non-desire" to "will become nature," the solitude of discordant sides and antidotes is spoken. Difficulty, it is said from "Whoever asks Bhagavan" to "those are practicing difficulty," the self-nature of difficulty is spoken. Certainty, it is said is certainty itself, from "Subhuti" to "are you seeking armor, yes," the self-nature of certainty is spoken. In order to completely liberate all sentient beings from suffering, and for the self-nature to be completely omniscient

The armor, what the Blessed One said, from "the armor" to "dividing the armor," is especially to be done. "Non-objectification" is from "prayer" to "meditation," which speaks of non-objectification. Preventing manifest clinging means there is no manifest clinging, from "then again" to "in order to diligently engage in that suchness," which speaks of no manifest clinging. "What is the object?" means the object is the suchness of all phenomena. That is also without distinction, because suchness is the suchness of the Buddhas, the all-knowing suchness. From "prayer" to "the profundity of all phenomena," it speaks of the nature of the object. "Incompatible" means that it is difficult for all the world to believe, and it is not taught for the sake of grasping or not grasping those dharmas. Grasping is how worldly people act with "I" and "mine." From "sons of the gods" to "cannot meditate," it speaks of what is difficult for all the world to believe. "Unobstructed" is unobstructed from form to all-knowingness. From "endowed with life" to "there is no birth," it speaks of the nature of unobstructedness. "Without basis, without going, without birth, etc.," where "that" refers to the dharma being taught, which is without basis, without going, and without birth. Here, because there is no basis for form, etc., there is no dwelling place. From "this dharma is" to "there is no basis," it speaks of the nature of being without basis. Because there is no going in this, it is without going. Thus, the suchness of the Tathagata is without going, without coming, and so is Subhuti. From "acting in desire" to "spoken in words," it speaks of the nature of being without going. Because there is no birth in this, it is without birth. Because there is no subsequent birth, what is subsequently born, and what is able to be subsequently born.

Ro. Then, from what is called "Abiding" to what is called "Without Object," the nature of non-arising is explained. Suchness is without object, meaning if form and so on are themselves without object, then how could the suchness of form and so on become an object? Then, from what is called "Endowed with Life" to what is called "Falling into the Solitary Realizer Ground," the nature of suchness without object is explained. Sixteen self-natures, meaning the sixteen aspects just mentioned are the self-nature. This is the fourth characteristic, because it exceeds the three characteristics of doing and accomplishing. How is this considered a characteristic? Because it is explained by the basis, meaning that this is the basis because it has characteristics and is what is to be explained, so it is the basis. This is the explanation of the characteristic of self-nature. Because what is in accordance with the part of liberation is to be expressed, therefore: The absence of characteristics, such as generosity, and so on, those skilled in true accomplishment, in this understanding of all aspects, are considered to be in accordance with the part of liberation. Focusing on the Buddha, etc., is faith, the field of generosity, etc., is diligence, perfect intention is mindfulness, non-conceptual concentration, and the wisdom of knowing all aspects of phenomena, and the five kinds, with the sharpness of perfect enlightenment, are easy to understand, while the dull consider it difficult to understand. Thus it is said, the first verse is the characteristic, and the others are the detailed distinctions. Not clinging to the practice of generosity, giving, and even all-knowingness as a characteristic, and for those skilled in the assembly of true accomplishment, being regarded here as being in accordance with the part of liberation, this is the characteristic. The five aspects mean that there are only five detailed distinctions here, namely faith, diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom. Among them, focusing on the Buddha, etc., is faith, that is, from what is called "Son of Sharadvati" to "It should be known that one will not abide in the Solitary Realizer Ground," the part of liberation corresponding to the characteristic of faith is explained. The field of generosity, etc., is diligence, meaning why?
