What is it that lacks Bodhisattvas, etc.? Therefore, the term Bodhisattva is mentioned, because it exists in the manner of arising and ceasing, there will be a distinction, because it is the object of definite knowledge. Therefore, for the time being, as an antidote to the conceptualization of self-nature, the Blessed One said, 'Thus, Subhuti, this form is merely a name,' etc. A name is merely a name empty of meaning. As an antidote to the conceptualization of distinctions, it is said that self-nature does not arise or cease, is not completely defiled, and is not completely purified. Why is that? From 'merely a name,' the question is 'from where?' Thus, if the entity of a name does not exist, then the designation of a name that depends on the entity will also not exist. Therefore, as an antidote to the conceptualization of meaning as it is in name, it is said, 'From artificial names, having examined those dharmas individually,' etc. Artificial means merely a designation. For each dharma, it is for dharma and dharma. Artificial means dependent on designation. Those are the dharmas. Examination means imputation, because the entity does not have that meaning, so it is suddenly designated as a name, it is not existent. Then, all names and meanings change as they are, because it is a name? Like the word Buddha? As an antidote to the conceptualization of clinging to names as they are in meaning, therefore, the Bodhisattva does not truly see those names, etc. All names refer to all things. Not seeing means not perceiving, because the meaning of the name lacks an entity. Like the designation of the word Buddha, through the way of the entity not appearing, it is not deceiving about the entity, but not because the entity appears. Furthermore, etc., is a summary. Thus, for example, it is an example of the Sutra school, etc. Therein, it is also a narration. If, Shariputra, from Jambudvipa to what is said between the Buddha and the Buddha's teachings.

This is the benefit of practice. The instructions for practice, including the benefits, have been extensively explained. Now, the instructions on truth will be spoken. The four noble truths are suffering, origin, cessation, and path. How a Bodhisattva relates to them, and how they become fully related, in that way the instructions on truth are taught. Regarding the truth of suffering, it is taught from "Thus" and so on, up to "not truly seeing what is related and unrelated." Thus, to fully understand suffering is not merely to understand suffering itself, but also the four noble truths. These also completely encompass all phenomena. Therefore, the aggregates, elements, sense bases, truths, and dependent origination, these are divided into five groups by their distinctions. Regarding their emptiness, inner emptiness, and so on, one should also speak of related and unrelated. It is not only that, but when one does not see them as related or unrelated in any way, then one should speak of being related. That is the instruction on the truth of suffering. Regarding the truth of origin, it is taught from "In that, there is no form" and so on, up to "Consciousness itself is emptiness, emptiness itself is consciousness." Thus, origin should be abandoned. Because form and so on do not arise from it, it is not a cause, so how could it be an origin? Because it is not of the nature of cessation, how should it be abandoned? If one does not abandon this, nothing will be completely defiled, and if one abandons it, nothing will be completely purified, so how should this be abandoned? If being related to suffering and origin is completely defiled, and being unrelated is completely purified, then that is also unreasonable. Like this, he does not truly see anything gathering and being related anywhere, that is the instruction on the truth of origin. Regarding the truth of cessation, it is taught from "Sariputra, emptiness" and so on, up to "called related."

It is said up to "should be done." The meaning is that if a Bodhisattva sees all phenomena as emptiness, then what can manifest its cessation? For the time being, that itself is not, it is said emptiness and so on. That is unborn and unceasing, because it is permanent. It will not be completely defiled, nor will it be completely purified, because it is without change. It will not decrease or increase, because it is pervasive. There is no past, etc., because it is permanent, etc. Therefore, it is not that it was previously defiled and later purified. If it is said that suffering and origin are its cessation, then it is said "anything like this" and so on. It means that there is no form, etc., in this pervasiveness. Therefore, there is no suffering. There is no origin, up to no enlightenment, this is the instruction on the truth of cessation. Regarding the truth of the path, starting from "That is Prajnaparamita," it is said with the four words "other." In this way, the path to be cultivated is what is used to fully know suffering, what should be abandoned is origin, what should manifest is cessation, the path to be cultivated is what has the Dharma of the fruits of learning and non-learning, that is the path. Therefore, the wheel with the path completely summarizes all phenomena. Those that are not observed, have self-nature, and are observed as not having self-nature, that is the only union. Meditating on samadhi of emptiness and so on, with emptiness and so on, does not combine with one's own nature, the completely imputed. For the yogis of emptiness and so on, it is not combined with the sound of its purification. Not combining, not separating, because there is no characteristic of the combination of complete imputation, therefore it does not combine. Because one's own nature is the nature of samadhi that is inexpressible and without characteristics, therefore it does not separate, this is the second. Meditating on one's own characteristic of emptiness does not combine with form and so on, because there is no characteristic of it there.
