Emptiness is the emptiness of things. Because there is no birth, there is no thing. That emptiness by its own nature is the emptiness of no thing. The non-perverted nature of all dharmas is its own nature, because it is not made by wisdom and views. That is emptiness by its own nature. This is also supreme, and it is also other, and because it is the nature that is not made by others, it is also nature, so that is the nature of others, that is suchness. That is emptiness by its own nature, that is the collection of wisdom. There, from what is called going bravely, etc., until being liberated without accumulation like the sky and being without defilement, those samadhis are the nature of the non-conceptual, uncontaminated, transcendental mind of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. When acting separately by the power of previous attention, various names are spoken. Being endowed with that is the collection of merit. The collection of paths should be explained, the aspects of enlightenment, etc., are the path. Among them, what is rightly known by what is mindfulness. Those mindfulnesses are four by the difference of objects, namely mindfulness of the body, mindfulness of feelings, mindfulness of mind, and mindfulness of dharmas. Among them, abiding by observing the body in the inner body, without conceptualizing, one does not conceptualize with the conceptualization associated with the body. Observing the body in the outer body is also the same. Observing the body in the inner and outer body is also the same. From observing feelings in the inner and outer, and inner and outer feelings, mind, and dharmas, up to observing dharmas, observing dharmas without conceptualizing, and eliminating worldly attachment and displeasure with mindfulness and awareness, even if one discriminates, one does not discriminate with the discrimination associated with dharmas. Among them, the inner body is one's own six senses, such as the eyes. The outer body is the compounded things outside of one's own body. The inner and outer body is one's own body.

The residue of transformation arises and transforms from arising. The three aspects of feelings, etc., are also the objects of the three aspects of the body. Feeling is happiness and suffering, and neither suffering nor happiness. Dharma is the good and non-good arising from the mind. Following the body, etc., means following the Dharma nature of the body, etc. Having the body, etc., means having the perception of the body, etc. Thinking means distinguishing thoughts. This body is one, my body, permanent and impermanent, happiness and suffering, like this, etc., not in a way of not paying attention, not following seeing, and not distinguishing thoughts. Having respect and constancy, having heaviness. Following and having mindfulness is having mindfulness. Protecting with the nature of not forgetting, and being connected with non-distracted memory is having memory. Effort and wisdom and memory, the benefit of these is said to be the removal of worldly attachment and displeasure. Removal means abandonment. Worldly Dharma, for gain and fame and happiness and praise, etc., is greed and attachment. For not gaining and no fame and suffering and blame, it is displeasure. Thus, in the conduct of Bodhisattvas, the mindfulness of close abiding is taught, and in the conduct of Shravakas, fourteen aspects of the mindfulness of close abiding of the body are taught. Among them, there are three through the gate of mindfulness. Long breaths, etc., for those, it is one. Short coming, etc., for those, it is the second. For the memory of exhaling and inhaling, it is the third. Through the gate of element differentiation, it is the fourth. Through the gate of thirty-six impure objects, it is the fifth. Through the gate of unpleasantness, it is the ninth. Among them, manifestation means walking. Not returning means returning. Universal viewing means in front. Various viewing means in all directions. Contraction means gathering. Truly abiding within is tranquility.

English

And, one should be diligent in higher seeing. Because one has this mindfulness, one is endowed with mindfulness. The body's breath entering from the nostrils is inhalation. Exiting is exhaling, like a well-trained potter or like his close disciple. Skin and flaking are distinguished by inner and outer. Sinews are veins. Kidneys are kidneys. Liver is liver. Lungs are lungs. Spleen is spleen. Digested and undigested are food. Ash of saliva is a lump of phlegm. Blood is rotten blood. Bundles are plowing fields. Phlegm is a container for grains. What is called a charnel ground is teaching. What is called a place where corpses are abandoned is subsequent teaching. One day after death, etc., are, in order, the three, such as swelling, etc. That which has decayed is that which has been gnawed by worms, because worms have been born. Or, what has been eaten is what has been scattered. There, seeing the body in the charnel ground, one connects oneself with being similar to it. What is called this dharma nature is teaching. What is called having such a nature is subsequent teaching. If one doubts that the living body is not like that, but the dead body is like that. Therefore, it is said that it does not go beyond this dharma nature, because if there is an opposing condition present, it will definitely become like that. This mind definitely abandoning is completely abandoning, and those are four types. For example, in order not to generate unwholesome and non-virtuous dharmas that have not been generated, one generates desire. One strives. One initiates diligence. One completely grasps the mind. One completely abides. Similarly, in order to abandon those that have been generated, similarly, in order to generate wholesome dharmas that have not been generated, similarly, in order for those that have been generated to abide, increase, and mature. There, generating desire is armor-like diligence. Striving like that is combining is diligence. Initiating diligence is the diligence of a person. Completely grasping the mind and completely abiding are the diligence of means. A mind that shrinks from that
