Earth. Below that, the special characteristics are explained by six sets of six things. Below that, what the two skillful means are, also in order, the fifth and sixth are combined into six, abiding near the Perfection of Wisdom. Finally, it shows the benefits of armor practice. Therefore, the author of the treatise said: Giving and so on, the six kinds, By gathering them separately, What is the armor practice, It is explained as it is with six sets of six things. What is said, "Giving and so on, the six kinds," refers to giving up to wisdom. "Separately" means one by one. Gathering them is to abide in all. What is the nature of the practice of great armor, is the armor practice. As it is said in the sutra with six sets of six things. Having explained the armor practice, the entering practice will be explained. In this regard, the author of the treatise said: Samadhi, formless, giving, etc., The path and love, etc., Combined with no object, The three wheels are completely pure, What is to be done and the six superknowledges, For the sake of all-knowing, Entering practice, the Great Vehicle, Should be known as ascending. It is said that the beginning of going is the entering practice. That itself is climbing the nature of the Great Vehicle path. That is from meditation and formlessness, up to all-knowing. Therefore, there are nine kinds. In the sutra, "Shariputra said," etc., is what Shariputra asked. "So-and-so said," etc., is the answer. "Separate from desires" means because it is separate from the desires of afflictions, and because it does not fixate on the desires of things. "Separate from sinful unwholesome dharmas" means that the afflictions of desires are the cause of desires, that is, the misconduct of body, speech, and mind. "Having investigation and analysis" means that it is because it is truly endowed with investigation and analysis, which are the antidotes to desires. "Born from separation" means born from being separated from desires. "Joy and happiness" means accomplishing the meaning of desires, and the joy of body and mind being extremely tamed.
