That which is to be fully known, that which is to be abandoned as the origin, that which is to be realized as cessation, and that which is to be cultivated as the path—that which possesses the qualities of the fruits of learning and non-learning is the path. Therefore, the path together with its retinue completely encompasses all dharmas. To perceive them as non-objects, as possessing self, and as not possessing self, this is one union. When meditating on samadhi such as emptiness, one should not unite with emptiness and so forth, that is, with those imputed by their own nature. For yogis of emptiness and so forth, one should not unite even with the sound of their purification. The so-called non-union and non-differentiation is because there is no characteristic of the union of imputation, therefore there is no union. The so-called self is inexpressible and the nature of samadhi without characteristics, therefore there is no differentiation, this is the second. Meditating on the emptiness of one's own characteristics should not be united with form and so forth, because they do not have its characteristics. Because it is the practice of that itself, therefore it does not differentiate, this is the third. The fourth is easy to understand. This is the instruction on the truth of the path. When instructing on the Three Jewels, taking the instruction on the Buddha Jewel as the main point, it is taught with words such as "Furthermore." Thus, omniscience itself is Buddhahood. As it is said: "Without the stain of all obscurations, obtaining all-knowingness, like opening a precious vessel, thus it is rightly shown." Just like what was said. Therefore, the aggregates and sources, because the distinctions are not seen, one should not definitely unite with them, this is one union. Similarly, generosity, the perfection, and so forth, becoming the fruit of this path, this is the second. Similarly, one should not unite with the Buddha and enlightenment, omniscience itself. Because one should not unite with the Buddha and enlightenment, because the three are without difference, this is the instruction on the Buddha Jewel. Taking the Dharma Jewel as the main point, starting from "Furthermore" and so on, until "not generating a mind of corrupt wisdom."
