It is a collection, and that is also said in terms of towns, so that those with abilities can definitely understand it. Cessation is also the attainment of selflessness and so on, because those are completely non-existent. Therefore, regarding the talk of warfare and villages, cities and towns, etc., the places of association and subsequent association are separately prohibited, and only the talk of the Perfection of Wisdom, and the establishment of the place of mindfulness of all-knowingness. That is subsequent knowledge of cessation, from the talk of warfare, etc., to what is said between dwelling without separation from mindfulness, that is the twelfth sign of those very things. Subhuti, for example, like this, etc., to what is said between Subhuti, furthermore, should know non-retrogression, that is the fifteenth sign of those very things. Giving up one's life for the sake of the Dharma, it means that all phenomena are emptiness, which is the Dharma, and for that meaning, even life is given up.

That which is called 'comprehension' is the subsequent knowing of the path. What was spoken by the Blessed One (Sanskrit: Bhagavan, Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།) from 'Subhuti, furthermore' to 'individually and truly realize' is the sixteen aspects of that very thing. These sixteen moments are the true signs of a wise person abiding in the path of seeing, not turning back. This is the conclusion. Speaking with the authority of abiding in the path of meditation, the path of meditation is profound. Thus it is said, the sutra speaks of the path of meditation with profound words, and the many words are repetitive. Where does one abide to perfect all dharmas? Subhuti's request, from 'Subhuti asked' to 'please explain well' is what was said. What is that profundity itself? 'Profound is emptiness, etc.' Thus it is said. What the Blessed One spoke, from 'The Blessed One taught' to 'profound, profound' is what was said. What is the profundity of emptiness, etc.? That profundity is liberation from the extremes of superimposition and denial. Thus, from 'Suchness is without form' to 'no enlightenment' is liberation from the extreme of superimposition; from 'not different from form' to 'there is no suchness apart from enlightenment' is liberation from the extreme of denial. From 'that request' etc., to 'that is very wonderful' is what was said. What is the path of meditation? 'Repeatedly thinking, measuring, and determining are the path of meditation.' Having gone alone to a solitary place, analyzing the determined meaning with four kinds of reasoning by the wisdom arising from hearing is thinking. The four kinds of reasoning are: dependent reasoning, functional reasoning, establishing reasoning, and the reasoning of the nature of things. Then, how the meaning of thought reaches nine ultimate aspects is calm abiding, which is measuring. Then, analyzing those nine meanings, analyzing in detail, completely knowing, and completely distinguishing, its nature is insight, which is determining. The third, for those very ones, is the 'repeatedly' in 'repeatedly'. This is the nature of the path of meditation. The Blessed One taught.
