The seven roots are like the ocean of limbs. Twenty different ones. Those inexhaustible hundreds are those. Among them, the first arising of the mind is like the earth, because it becomes the basis for the growth of all the Buddha's teachings and their assemblies. Moreover, it is said from "other" to "should be established." Among them, Bodhisattva refers to all the dharmas that abide in the lineage, with the intention of manifestly and completely awakening to perfect enlightenment in every way, that is, desiring to attain true and complete enlightenment. The great mind refers to the desire for the great benefit of others. That is the common nature, the first being the nature of being without a companion. The rest is the nature of having a companion. Among them, Bodhisattva mind refers to showing the common nature. Thinking and so on refers to showing the companion. The one with thought is like good gold, because it does not depend on change. Moreover, it is said like this, like this means as it will be explained. From the dwelling place, it means dwelling with the thought of purity and the nature of intention. The way of not dwelling means that the non-dwelling, the one who dwells, and the basis of dwelling are not found. The one with effort is like the waxing moon, because virtuous dharmas increase. Moreover, it is said like this, like this means the order of what is said. Abiding means abiding in thought. The waxing moon refers to the collection of all white dharmas from mindfulness and so on to great equanimity. Effort means familiarity. Moreover, it is arising and increasing, like the first day of the waxing moon. In order to understand the difference, thought is higher thought. The one with it is like fire, because from it, the difference of wood is different like fire. Moreover, it is said omniscient nature and so on, and here also the higher thought is expressed by desiring special dharmas. After that, the six kinds of mind generation with the six perfections should be said, so the nature of those five kinds should be said.

It is the lineage itself, the aspiration itself, the thought itself, the object itself, and one's own nature itself. Among these, lineage is the nature of reality, for a Bodhisattva, abiding in whatever nature of reality, abides in the mind of enlightenment, and with a mind preceded by compassion, completely gives away all things. Similarly, guarding all the vows that have been properly taken, similarly, not minding all harms, enduring suffering, and the patience of definitely thinking about the Dharma. Similarly, being diligent in practicing all the virtuous dharmas of body, speech, and mind, in the order as it is, are the perfections of generosity, discipline, patience, and diligence. Similarly, suppressing the actions of body, speech, and mind in every way, the mind abiding in every way, and discriminating dharmas in every way, those are, in order, the perfections of meditation and wisdom. Having generosity is like a great treasure, because it satisfies countless beings with the enjoyment of wealth, and because it is inexhaustible. Among these, it is also said to be called stingy, and so on. Having the perfection of discipline is like a source of jewels, because all the jewels of qualities arise from it. Among these, it is also said to be called immoral, and so on. The source of jewels is the mountain where jewels arise, and so on. Having the perfection of patience is like the ocean, because it is not disturbed by all arising fears. Among these, it is also said to be called harmful intent, and so on. Having the perfection of diligence is like a vajra, because it is firm due to its indestructibility. Among these, it is also said to be called laziness, and so on. Having the perfection of meditation is like the king of mountains, because it is not moved by distraction. Among these, it is also said to be called a distracted mind, and so on. Having the perfection of wisdom is like the king of medicine, because it completely pacifies the diseases of all obscurations.

Ro. Furthermore, it is stated in texts such as "Wisdom with Laxity." Possessing the four immeasurables is like having a great friend, because one never abandons sentient beings in any situation. The four immeasurables are loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, which are directed towards immeasurable sentient beings. In order, they generate happiness, eliminate suffering, abide in happiness, and cultivate samadhi with the intention of possessing an antidote to afflictions. This is explained from "even just generating a single virtuous thought" up to "not being separated from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas." Here, "for all sentient beings" means for the benefit of all sentient beings. This should be applied both before and after. "For the benefit of all sentient beings" should also be applied to "desiring to be patient." "Relying on sentient beings" means cherishing sentient beings. This should also be applied later. Among these, the three words here indicate the immeasurables, and the remaining words indicate their result. Possessing clairvoyance is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, because one obtains its result according to one's wishes. This is explained from "desiring not to be separated from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas" to the three words beginning with "other." Here, "desiring to abide" means desiring to abide for a long time. "By what and what" means by clairvoyance. Possessing the means of gathering is like the sun, because it ripens the crops of those to be tamed. This is explained by four words beginning with "other," in order to show the means of gathering in order. Gathering sentient beings means gathering them correctly, hence it is called gathering. Its means are skillful methods, namely generosity, kind speech, beneficial action, and acting in accordance with the Dharma. Among these, the main one is kind speech, which is teaching the six perfections. "By desiring to be inexhaustible" means acting for the benefit of sentient beings. "Declaring" means acting in accordance with the Dharma. Each
