The term "free from desire and attachment" means that it is reasonable. The term "equanimity" means that one is equanimous towards the joy of conceptualization and analysis. The term "mindfulness and awareness" means that because wisdom is used many times, the occasion of joy is not distinguished. The term "happiness" refers to the happiness of feeling and the happiness of extreme training, and the happiness of extreme training. The term "of the body" refers to the body of form and the body of mind. The term "noble" refers to the hearers and self-enlightened Buddhas. From "abiding in happiness" to "this meditator," this part is the remainder. The term "fourth" means that he has abandoned happiness, and has already abandoned suffering, and because of the cessation of joy and displeasure, there is no suffering and no happiness. He abides having cultivated the fourth dhyana of complete purity of equanimity and mindfulness. Among them, abandoning happiness is the fourth dhyana. Suffering is the second. Therefore, it is said "already." Joy is the third dhyana. Displeasure is the second dhyana. One should follow "already." Equanimity itself is feeling here, neither suffering nor happiness. Therefore, it is said, "Neither happiness nor suffering." The term "with equanimity and complete purity of mindfulness" means that here, extreme purity is attained. Therefore, the first dhyana has five limbs: conceptualization and analysis are the limbs of the antidote, joy and happiness are the limbs of benefit, and one-pointedness of mind is the limb of the basis of both. The second dhyana has four limbs: inner purity is the limb of the antidote, and the remaining limbs are the same as before. The third has five limbs: equanimity, mindfulness, and awareness are the limbs of the antidote, happiness is the limb of benefit, and the remainder is the same as before. The fourth has four limbs: complete purity of equanimity and complete purity of mindfulness are the limbs of the antidote, neither suffering nor happiness is the limb of benefit, and the remainder is the same as before. In terms of the formless realms, it is the same.

Thus, it is proclaimed, such as the realm of infinite space. He completely transcends the perception of form in all aspects, the perception of obstruction is extinguished, and he does not attend to various perceptions, which is infinite space. Thus, he dwells in close cultivation of the realm of infinite space. The perception of form is the perception of blue and yellow, and so on. Not being attached to them means completely transcending all of them. Because one cultivates the perception of space at all times, there is no appearance. The perception of obstruction is the perception of obstacles such as walls and fences. Various perceptions are perceptions of mansions and gardens, as well as mountains and rivers, and the moon and the sun, and so on. Infinite space means that one who has a focus on this realm of infinite space is called that. He completely transcends the realm of infinite space in all aspects, which is infinite consciousness. Thus, he dwells in close cultivation of the realm of infinite consciousness. How does one transcend this? With whatever consciousness he believes in infinite space, he is liberated from that infinity, because he stops the perception of space in all aspects. He completely transcends the realm of infinite consciousness in all aspects, which is the realm of nothingness. Thus, he dwells in close cultivation of the realm of nothingness. Moving upward from infinite consciousness, one does not see even a small object of focus, which means that one enters into samadhi by focusing on nothingness itself as the object of focus. He completely transcends the realm of nothingness in all aspects, which is the realm of neither perception nor non-perception. Thus, he dwells in close cultivation of the realm of neither perception nor non-perception. He is detached from the perception of nothingness, and he also ceases from it, because the perception of nothingness has already ceased from the beginning, so it is non-perception. Only subtle perceptions arise, therefore it is neither non-perception. Whoever closely holds the realm of neither perception nor non-perception is called that. A Bodhisattva enters into these eight meditations and formless absorptions every day.
