The discipline of abandoning transformed dharmas, repaying even small favors bestowed by others, repaying with great meaning as long as samsara is not empty, enduring all harm, keeping in mind that all dharmas are unborn and inseparable, being without regret in cultivating virtuous dharmas, rejoicing in encouraging all sentient beings to be established in the three vehicles, great compassion of loving all beings and not being weary of abiding in hell for the sake of each and every being, rejoicing in all living beings, honoring and serving the holy ones, generating the perception of the teacher as the Buddha, and diligently practicing as he teaches, being diligent in benefiting others and not doing other things, rejoicing in practicing the six perfections such as generosity. Such are the eight dharmas. By the distinction of having been completely purified as before, the second stainless ground is attained and perfected. Thereafter, the complete purification of the third ground, with patience as the main perfection, is taught. Never being satisfied with hearing, giving dharma without contamination, purifying all Buddha-fields, not being weary of samsara, having shame and embarrassment, and being without pride, these are the five. Those who listen to the holy dharma are never satisfied, and the Buddhas are also like that, thinking of receiving all the dharmas spoken in the ten directions, extensively teaching the holy dharma without regard for gain and honor, and not even hoping for the fruit of enlightenment, cultivating conforming virtuous roots, purifying all Buddha-fields, both the container and sentient beings, not being weary of mind by repaying harm for favors, and enduring all suffering, not doing evil deeds in relation to oneself and others, and abandoning the mind of the hearers and solitary Buddhas. Such five dharmas do not generate pride, and by completely purifying as before, the third radiant ground is realized and perfected. Thereafter, the complete purification of the fourth ground, with diligence as the main perfection, is taught. Dwelling in the forest, having few desires

Contentment and, practicing the right refuge, not abandoning the precepts, criticizing all desires, nirvana and relinquishing everything, not being timid, and having no views, thus it is said. Abiding in solitude, dwelling in seclusion with the conduct of the Lesser Vehicle, not desiring gain when it is not obtained, and not seeking enlightenment for one's own sake, not being ignorant of contentment when gain is obtained, and not being arrogant by obtaining omniscience, the support of the right refuge is begging for alms, possessing the qualities of practice such as sitting in one seat, and possessing patience to realize the profound Dharma, whatever precepts are taken, not abandoning them even for the sake of life, and not focusing on all of them, criticizing by seeing the faults of desirable qualities, and not generating a mind of desire through the gate of not focusing on inherent nature, conforming to those to be tamed and entering into nirvana, and having no effort towards all dharmas, not clinging to all possessions and being able to relinquish them, having no timidity in accomplishing virtuous deeds and not dwelling near objects, not having views due to not being attached to things and having no intention. Thus, by practicing with the aforementioned ten dharmas, one can overcome and perfect the fourth ground, the radiant ground. Thereafter, the practice of the fifth ground, which is mainly the perfection of meditation, is taught: intimacy and attachment to home, places that have become noisy, praising oneself and disparaging others, the ten paths of unwholesome actions, being filled with pride and perversion, evil wisdom and enduring afflictions, if these ten are completely abandoned, then the fifth ground will be truly attained. Thus it is said. Not being intimate with nuns etc. for the sake of gain etc., and not pretending to take birth, not showing intimacy with the homes of faithful patrons, and not being jealous of those who obtain gain from patrons, not being disturbed by the noise of cities etc., and not dwelling in places where the words and minds of the Lesser Vehicle arise, and praising oneself.
