Chapter One: Explanation of Omniscience. Chapter One: Explanation of Omniscience. Now, let us explain in detail the branches of various objects. Briefly, because it is the fruit to be attained by striving in every way, therefore, wanting to explain omniscience, in order to understand the branches by which it is accomplished. First, the generation of bodhicitta, along with its own nature and object, is proclaimed. "Bodhicitta is for the sake of others, desiring perfect and complete enlightenment." That is how it is. As it should be, in order to do the benefit of others, having the characteristic of wanting to attain perfect and complete enlightenment, having the companion of aspiration, aspiring with thought, and the nature of entering with application, is the very nature of bodhicitta, along with various distinctions. If the desire for enlightenment itself is not the desire for virtuous Dharma arising from the mind, and the generation of bodhicitta arises in a particularly excellent object, then how can it be considered its characteristic? It is not so, because the pursuit of meaning itself is the nature of omniscience, so it is merely a conventional agreement. Otherwise, if the fruit is named by the cause and the one with companions, how can one's own characteristic be established? Among them, the nature of what is desired, perfect and complete enlightenment, what is it? And for whose benefit is it desired, what is that benefit of others? That and that, as it is said in the sutras, are explained in a concise and extensive way. As it is said in the Mothers of the Buddhas: "Wanting to realize perfect and complete enlightenment in all ways." And "One should practice without clinging to the giver, the gift, and the recipient, etc." And so on, one should know the meaning of enlightenment. And "Wanting all sentient beings to be liberated from suffering as they should be." And "Wanting to place stingy sentient beings and others in generosity and so on, one should study this Prajnaparamita." And so on, one should know the meaning of the benefit of others. Thus, the nature of the object as shown in a concise and extensive way should be fully understood. The various distinctions of bodhicitta itself.
