The first dhyana, which possesses five branches such as joy, the second dhyana, which possesses four branches such as inner purity, the third dhyana, which possesses five branches such as equanimity, and the fourth dhyana, which possesses four branches such as mindfulness and clear awareness, as well as the infinity of space, which is preceded by aspiration, that is, saying "space and consciousness are infinite," and the sphere of infinite consciousness, and nothingness, and nothingness preceded by "neither being nor non-being," and the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, and the cessation of sensation and ideation, which is the characteristic of the cessation. In this way, for the nine realms, going upwards from the first dhyana up to cessation, and going downwards from cessation up to the first dhyana. In this way, the going and coming in accordance with and not in accordance with the rules shows the two lion strides. Furthermore, entering successively from the first dhyana etc. up to cessation, proceeding with a special state of absorption. After that, from the first dhyana up to cessation, alternating each state of absorption in cessation. Furthermore, having entered cessation, rising from that state, abandoning the single cessation, immediately entering the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, and rising from that state, placing the consciousness that operates in the desire realm in the interval without attention. Skillfully entering cessation from that point on, rising from that state, entering non-attention. From that point on, abandoning the two, entering the sphere of nothingness, rising from that state, entering non-attention. Similarly, for the sphere of infinite consciousness etc., alternating non-attention extremely in a descending manner, abandoning three, four, five, six, seven, and eight, and entering the first dhyana. Rising from that state, abiding in non-attention. In this way, proceeding in different ways, this is the transcendent absorption. So, what is the conceptual thought to be abandoned by that path of meditation? If asked, it is the four conceptual thoughts of the aspects that are incompatible with it, and first the first conceptual thought to be grasped is explained, that is,

Or briefly summarized, or extensive, and by the Buddhas, abandoned, hence not fully embraced, without the merits of the three times, the excellent path has three aspects, this one grasping concept, is the realm of practice of cultivation. Thus it is said. Not knowing the meaning of the scriptures, such as reality, therefore briefly summarizing the Dharma; not knowing one's own nature, therefore expanding the Dharma; not diligently applying oneself to the meaning as spoken, therefore abandoned by the Buddhas, not embraced; without the merits of the path of practice such as non-retrogression, therefore without the merits of the past; in the Prajnaparamita, with the aspect of accomplishment, without the merits of the path of seeing, therefore without the merits of the present; Prajnaparamita, with the nature of truly meditating, without the merits of the path of meditation, therefore without the merits of the future; with inverted quiescence etc., in the bliss of quiescence, practicing the excellent path; with the nature of directly realizing emptiness, seeing the excellent path of that nature; with the nature of practicing selflessness, truly meditating, not knowing the excellent path. Thus the first grasping concept, is the realm of the practice of cultivation, having nine aspects. After that, the second grasping concept is spoken. Second, mind and mental factors etc., are the realm of entering, thus it is asserted, not generating the mind and of Bodhi, the essence is not taken to mind, and the Lesser Vehicle is taken to mind, perfect Bodhi is not taken to mind, meditating and not meditating, and the opposites of those, the concept of unreal meaning, in the path of meditation should be known. Thus it is said. Separated from virtuous friends etc., therefore not generating the mind of Bodhi; not following the Buddha's excellent merit, therefore the essence of Bodhi is not taken to mind; fearing samsara and not considering the benefit of others, therefore taking the Lesser Vehicle to mind; without directly realizing Prajnaparamita, therefore perfect Bodhi is not taken to mind; by meditating on Prajnaparamita, obtaining omniscience
