It is said that one rejoices in accordance with what is conducive to growth, and in the middle, one abides in the six perfections such as generosity, and also practices in accordance with the previous ones. The great ones are summarized by the word "etc.", and one abides in the samadhi of arising and reversing dependent origination, and others also, like the previous ones, in the manner of approaching, etc., with the peak of focusing on all sentient beings. Similarly, the small one is to apply the path in the manner of the previous ones, such as to fully know suffering, etc., the middle one is to combine others with the fruit of self-enlightenment, and the great one is to abide in the unsurpassed, perfectly complete Buddha, and to combine others, etc., with the truth of suffering, etc., focusing on all sentient beings, which is patience. As before, the small one is to ripen with the three vehicles, and summarized by the word "etc.", the middle one is to generate the bodhisattva's supernormal cognition, and the great one is to abide in abandoning all habitual connections, etc., and to establish others, etc., focusing on all sentient beings, which is the supreme Dharma. Because of obtaining what is in accordance with the part of ascertainment, one becomes a non-returning bodhisattva, therefore the characteristic of the non-returning learner is taught. Starting from the limbs of ascertainment, in the paths of seeing and meditation, whichever bodhisattvas abide, they are the assembly of non-returners here. This is its meaning. Thus, the bodhisattvas who abide having obtained true realization in accordance with the four parts of ascertainment, and in the paths of seeing and meditation, are the sangha of the non-returning learners at this time of manifesting complete enlightenment in all aspects. Among them, a single intermediate verse declares the signs of non-return for those who abide in accordance with the part of ascertainment: The signs of turning away from form, etc., are declared in twenty ways, this is the characteristic of non-returners who abide in the limbs of ascertainment. This is its meaning. Form, etc.

The opposite of etc., and the twenty aspects of being without doubt, etc., by these, it is necessary to know the characteristics of non-retrogression for those who abide in the limbs of discernment. What are the twenty aspects? They are spoken of in the six intermediate verses: Turning away from form, etc., without doubt, without idleness, exhausting, oneself abiding in virtue, and placing others in it, having the support of others, such as generosity, etc., without hesitation about the profound meaning. Loving body, etc., and obscurations are, not associating with the five aspects, completely destroying habitual tendencies, mindfulness and clear awareness, clean clothes, etc., and no worms arising on the body. Without deceit, the mind is tamed, without taking and miserliness, etc., possessing the nature of Dharma and walking, seeking hell for the sake of sentient beings, others cannot abuse, showing other nearby paths to the demons, understanding what is called "Dung," is the conduct that pleases the Buddhas. With those twenty signs, abiding in the heat, peak, and forbearance, and the supreme Dharma positions, one does not regress from perfect enlightenment. Thus it is said. By the nature of no-self-nature, greatly turning away from the appearance of clinging to form, etc., knowing the qualities of the Buddhas, etc., and taking refuge with faith without doubt, by accomplishing discipline, exhausting birth in the eight unfavorable conditions of hell, hungry ghosts, animals, emptiness of Buddhas, borderlands, long-lived gods, those with wrong views, and mutes, by cultivating view and compassion, oneself abiding in the ten virtues, and also placing others in it, by exchanging self and others, dedicating all generosity, etc., with the mind to the realm of others, by truly understanding the Dharma, without hesitation about the profound meaning, by entering into benefiting others, the actions of loving body, speech, and mind, by perfect application, without craving desire, not associating with the five obscurations of harmful intent, sleep and drowsiness, agitation and regret, and doubt, by cultivating antidotes, destroying all habitual tendencies included in ignorance and views.
