Commentary on the Ornament of Clear Realization, called "A Garland of Wisdom Lights," Explanation of the Fifth Chapter. Sixth Chapter: Explanation of Gradual Enlightenment. Because upon hearing the Peak Realization, one must gradually meditate on all white dharmas, the Gradual Realization is taught. Generosity up to wisdom, remembering the Buddhas and so forth, and the Dharma, with the nature of non-substantiality, that is considered the activity of gradualness. Thus it is said. With the nature of the three circles being completely pure, practicing the six perfections such as generosity completely, accomplishing all trainings correctly, and remembering the Buddha with powers and fearlessness and so forth, in a way that there is no remembrance and no mental engagement in the ultimate sense, and similarly, remembering virtuous, non-virtuous, and unspecified dharmas, and in that way, remembering the noble, irreversible Sangha, and similarly, remembering the precepts such as non-degradation, and giving such as material things, and remembering gods such as desire gods, and from the time of first generating the mind, with a mind that engages with all-knowingness, training all dharmas as the nature of non-things, thus, with thirteen aspects, gradually connecting and perfecting all white dharmas, that is considered here as the activity of gradual accomplishment. Explanation of the Sixth Chapter of the Commentary on the Ornament of Clear Realization, a treatise on the key instructions of the Perfection of Wisdom, called "A Garland of Wisdom Lights." Seventh Chapter: Explanation of Enlightenment in a Single Instant of Clear Enlightenment. From the gradual accomplishment of realization, because of the nature of extreme familiarity, enlightenment arises from the realization of a single instant, therefore, with the differentiation of its characteristics, from the first of the four aspects, the nature of non-vipaka, it is taught that all uncontaminated dharmas are clearly enlightened in a single instant. Even each of generosity and so forth, because they gather all uncontaminated dharmas, this realization of the Sage in a single instant

Should be known. This is called (the explanation of this). From a long time, due to the power of the five perfections, such as generosity, which are extremely superior, any one of those moments, with the nature of being definitely free from inversion in each individual thing, until completely reaching the seventh ground. Because it gathers all the uncontaminated dharmas from generosity and so on up to the eighty minor marks, therefore, it should be known that the Muni (Shakyamuni Buddha) attains perfect enlightenment with the realization of a single moment of a Bodhisattva. If it is said, how can one uncontaminated wisdom be focused on, and then all uncontaminated dharmas will appear? A proven example from the world is given: Just as a person with a water wheel, with one foot stepping method, everything creaks and shakes, one moment is also like that. This is called (the explanation of this). For example, a skilled craftsman, having previously made a well-crafted water wheel, if a person steps on it with one foot, then everything will turn at the same time. Similarly, like the manifestation of the power of the Dharmadhatu, due to the power of perfect and well-cultivated practice, if only one uncontaminated wisdom manifests in a single moment, then it will manifest all those of the same nature. Second, the nature of the ripening nature is declared, with one moment to achieve enlightenment all uncontaminated Dharma. When all white Dharma's, nature Prajnaparamita, ripening Dharma's state arises, at that time one moment of wisdom. This is called (the explanation of this). When the nature of all extremely white dharmas, because it is the Prajnaparamita, with the power of being free from attention in all ways, the state of the ripening nature, the nature of being free from all defilements arises, then in just one moment, the nature of the ripening of the eighth ground and so on, for the sake of all uncontaminated dharmas appearing, with the realization of one moment, one attains perfect enlightenment. Third, it is declared that all dharmas are without nature, and with one moment one attains perfect enlightenment.
