The so-called "great significance" and so on, can produce great merit. Thus, the characteristic of a Bodhisattva dedicating the root of virtue, which is the nature of focusing on non-attachment, to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete, and awakened Bodhi, is twelvefold. In order to manifestly and extensively increase the abundant accumulation of merit from complete dedication, rejoicing and mindfulness are taught: With skillful means and non-attachment, rejoice in the root of virtue, rejoicing and mindfulness, here it is said to be cultivation. This means that oneself and others, in the three times, have done the root of virtue, for the finite and the other kinds of roots of virtue, with a very joyful mind, in the conventional truth, with skillful means, without any attachment, completely rejoice, this is the stage of the path of cultivation, with small effort can obviously increase the inconceivable merit. Therefore, with faith, dedication, rejoicing, and mindfulness, in order, like gold dust produced from the source, can obviously accumulate merit; like a goldsmith making ornaments, can be transformed into unsurpassed limbs; like becoming beautiful to many people, can make immeasurable roots of virtue greatly increase, this is what is to be expressed. After that, the uncontaminated path of meditation will be shown, first the path of meditation with the characteristics of accomplishing qualities is taught: Its nature is supreme, it does not obviously accumulate for everything, for all dharmas there is no attachment, it can initiate is of great significance. This means that for form and so on, how to realize its own nature, is nature; overwhelming all the roots of virtue with attachment, is supreme; for all dharmas not clinging to the characteristics of arising and ceasing, is not obviously accumulating; with such a path, in the continuum of the yogi, arising and initiating all dharmas such as conditioned and unconditioned are unattainable, and as the fruit of non-abiding Nirvana, so it is of great significance. For those who possess practice, the pure path can arise.

Because I said that, regarding what should be accepted and what should be abandoned, the causes for this arising and not arising have been previously stated. Relying on the Buddha and giving, etc., and whatever is skillful in means, these are the causes for having faith in this. The causes for being impoverished in Dharma are being oppressed by the density of demons, and not having faith in the profound Dharma, and being attached to the aggregates, etc., and being completely seized by evil friends. That is what is said. Relying on the Buddha, etc., serving and honoring and questioning for a long time, practicing the six perfections and guarding the conduct of the Great Vehicle, and whatever is skillful in the means of abiding in this, that is the cause for having faith in this pure path and arising. Because one has not accumulated roots of virtue in the past, one is blessed by demons, and because one has not trained in the lineage of the Great Vehicle, one does not have faith in the profound Dharma, and because one has not become accustomed to the meaning of selflessness, one is attached to the aggregates, etc., and because one has not associated with virtuous friends, one is seized by evil friends, these are the causes for not arising in this and being impoverished in Dharma. After that, the general aspect of purity, which is appropriate for the occasion, is spoken of. For fruits, etc., form, etc., is purity, for what reason? Because those two are not different entities, because they are indivisible, it is said to be purity. That is what is said. Like this, whatever is the fruit of the noble ones, that is purity by being separated from all discordant aspects, that itself is the purity of form, etc., the purity of fruit and form, etc., because it is completely separated from attachment to self, etc., for what reason those purities are not different entities by their own and common characteristics and are indivisible, therefore it is said to be pure in that way. After that, the specific differences of purity are spoken of. Because of the decline of the three, afflictions, knowable, and path, the purity of disciples, solitary realizers, and bodhisattvas is, the Buddha is all kinds of most excellent. That is what is said. Abandoning the afflictions such as desire, etc., related to the view of a person is the purity of the Hearers, and the obscurations of knowledge related to the view of what is to be grasped
