In all aspects, let the mind be free, away from pride, and with utmost respect to all who have become teachers. By obtaining the power of antidotes, conquer the battlefield of desire and so on. With the mind of omniscience, diligently cultivate the Prajnaparamita, so as not to become a field for pursuing harm to others. By fully cultivating and perfecting the Paramitas that serve as the cause, one approaches the perfectly complete Bodhi of the fruit. As the basis of inconceivable qualities, one becomes an object worthy of offering. The actions of those who abide in the path of meditation are these six. After these six, by what means are these qualities heard, and by explaining the path of meditation itself, for now, the first path of meditation with outflows, the initial faith and attention, is taught. Faith is for one's own benefit, the benefit of oneself and others, and the benefit of others. These three knowable things are also small, medium, and large, each considered to be of three kinds. By the distinctions of small of small, etc., if that is also of three kinds, then it is considered to be twenty-seven kinds. This is what is said. Even if one does not first manifest aiming at the benefit of oneself, both, and only others, one should know how to see as in faith, becoming the three supports of virtuous Dharma. Each of these is also divided into three kinds by the distinctions of small, etc., and that is also divided into three kinds by the distinctions of small of small, etc., that is, nine nines. Thus, three nines are twenty-seven kinds of faith. Among them, having faith in the Prajnaparamita is better than offering to the relics of the Tathagata, and because one does not understand its greatness, having faith in the small meaning, and whether the Buddha is present or not, considering him to be the teacher, these are the small of small, etc., of faith with one's own benefit. Building a hundred thousand stupas with the heart of relics, and filling the entire Jambudvipa, and offering to the filling of the four continents is better than that, these are the small of small, etc., of the medium. Such offerings

Building and offering stupas filling a thousand, two thousand, and three thousand worlds is less meritorious than the following, which belong to the great small, etc. Each sentient being in the three thousand worlds offering such stupas, and ensuring the unbroken lineage of the Three Jewels, also repelling the wars of the Asuras (non-gods), and perfecting the five perfections, is less meritorious than the following, which belong to the tiny tiny of both self and others' benefit, etc. Obtaining the five aggregates that surpass the world and the Hearers, and accomplishing the pride of the gods, and being respected by the noble ones, these belong to the medium small, etc. Giving that is not stolen by others, and the Dharma giving to the gods becomes supreme, body and mind are extremely joyful and increase splendor, etc., these belong to the great small, etc. Surpassing the offering to the Buddhas of the ten directions and their retinues, and surpassing relying on relics filling Jambudvipa, and being free from the fear of evil destinies and lower vehicles, these belong to the tiny tiny of benefiting others' faith, etc. Surpassing relying on relics filling the three thousand worlds, and being equal to teaching all the scriptures of the Tathagatas of the ten directions, and being fearless of all fears like a king, these belong to the medium small, etc. Surpassing relying on relics filling the world systems of the ten directions, and attaining the enlightenment of all the noble ones of the three times, and being the precursor to perfecting the six perfections, these belong to the great small, etc. The Bodhisattva who cultivates these faiths in the ten directions, will praise the qualities of the Buddhas, etc., manifestly, due to generating great joy, therefore, praises, etc., are spoken. In the Prajnaparamita, for the states of faith, it is desired to praise, honor, and extol with three sets of nine.
