Being delighted to establish the three, and having great loving-kindness, loving all beings and not being weary of abiding in hell for each one, and rejoicing in all sentient beings, and honoring and serving the holy ones, and regarding the virtuous friend as the teacher and manifesting his teachings, and being diligent in the affairs of others and not doing other things, and being exceedingly delighted to practice the six perfections such as generosity. Such are the eight dharmas. Through the distinction of having completely trained as before, one obtains and perfects the second ground, the stainless ground. After that, with the perfection of patience as the main thing, the complete training of the third ground is taught. Never being satisfied with hearing, and, giving Dharma without contamination, and, purifying all Buddha-fields, and, not being weary of samsara, and, being called shame and embarrassment, being without pride, these five. Thus it is said. Those who listen to the holy Dharma do not know satisfaction, and so do the Buddhas, thinking to receive all that is spoken in the ten directions, and not looking at gain and so forth, they greatly teach the holy Dharma, and do not even hope for the fruit of enlightenment, cultivating the roots of virtue in accordance, and purifying all the Buddha-fields, the vessel and the contents, and not being weary of repaying kindness with harm and so forth, enduring all suffering, not considering oneself and others and not doing unwholesome deeds, abandoning the mind of the hearers and solitary realizers, such five dharmas do not generate pride, and by completely training as before, one realizes and perfects the third ground, the radiant ground. After that, with the perfection of diligence as the main thing, the complete training of the fourth ground is taught. Dwelling in the forest, having few desires and being content, and, relying on pure and correct discipline, and, completely not abandoning the training, and, reviling all desires, and, abandoning nirvana and all possessions, being unyielding and without views. Thus it is said. Abiding in solitude, dwelling in a remote place with the conduct of the Lesser Vehicle, not generating desire for what is gained and not gained.

Moreover, one does not seek enlightenment for one's own benefit, is not content with what one has gained, attains omniscience, and does not become arrogant because of it. One relies on the basis of correct discipline, practices alms-begging, dwells in one place, and so on, possessing the qualities of training, and has the patience to realize the profound Dharma. One does not abandon the precepts one has taken, even for the sake of one's life, and does not properly attend to all of these. One scolds the qualities of desire by viewing their faults, and does not generate a mind of desire through the gate of not focusing on inherent existence. One inclines towards nirvana in accordance with those to be tamed, and there is no manifest activity towards all dharmas. One does not hold onto all possessions as being close, and completely gives them away. One has no discouragement in accomplishing virtue, and does not dwell near impure places. One has no view or attention due to manifest attachment to things. In this way, by completely training in the ten dharmas as before, one overcomes and perfects the fourth ground, the Radiant One. After that, the complete purification of the fifth ground is taught, with the perfection of meditation as the main focus: Attachment to friends and home, And places that are tumultuous, Self-praise and disparagement of others, And the ten paths of non-virtuous actions, Satisfaction with pride and perversion, Evil wisdom and tolerance of afflictions. If these ten are completely abandoned, Then the fifth ground is truly attained. This is what is said. One does not associate with nuns and others for the sake of gain, nor does one falsely show rebirth. One does not show the homes of those who have faith in others, nor does one envy the gains obtained from benefactors. One is not distracted by the tumult of cities and so on, and does not dwell in places where inferior vehicle talks and minds arise. One does not speak praise of oneself, nor does one see all internal dharmas. One abandons slandering others, and does not focus on all external dharmas. One abandons the ten paths of non-virtuous actions, and abides correctly in the ten virtues. One does not become arrogant with learning and discipline, and especially does not see the Dharma of pride. Good
