Itself. (Ten) Giving and relying on virtuous friends, seeking excellent Dharma, constantly with a mind of renunciation, joy in desiring to become a Buddha's body, teaching the Dharma and truthful words are considered the tenth. Since these are not perceived as having inherent existence, one should know that they are completely purified. Thus, 'thinking' means having a thought that is not deceptive towards all sentient beings. 'The very nature of benefiting' means being pleased to benefit all sentient beings. 'Having equanimity towards sentient beings' means thinking of benefiting all sentient beings. 'Giving' means giving away everything. 'Relying on virtuous friends' means attending to and respecting virtuous friends. 'Seeking excellent Dharma' means seeking and examining the Buddha's words as much as possible to distinguish them. 'Constantly with a mind of renunciation' means turning away from the state of household life. 'Joy in desiring to become a Buddha's body' means that the Buddha is the Bhagavan, complete with Dharma and enjoyment, and desiring the three manifestations. 'Teaching the Dharma' means teaching the Dharma with a mind that does not depend on material things. 'Truthful words are considered the tenth' means that truthful words are truthful words, etc., and they are considered the ten causes. Since these are not perceived as having inherent existence, one should know that they are completely purified. Among these, 'these' refers to thinking, etc. 'Completely purified' means completely pure. 'The nature of what is grasped and what grasps is not perceived' means that it is non-dual, the nature of being close to the imperceptible. 'One should know' means that one should realize. These are the means of entering the Joyful Ground. By meditating on these ten purifications as emptiness, one will attain the first ground, the Joyful Ground. Moral conduct, gratitude for actions, and patience, great joy and great compassion, listening with respect and reverence, the eighth is diligence in giving, etc. Thus, knowing moral conduct means that the three aspects of moral conduct are completely fulfilled. 'Gratitude for actions' means remembering the benefits done by others. 'Patience' means that the three aspects of patience are complete. 'Great joy' means great joy in the sacred Dharma. 'Great compassion' means for the benefit of all sentient beings,

It is bound accordingly. Reverence means bowing to Khenpo and others. Respect means practicing the Dharma taught by virtuous spiritual friends. Diligence means taking joy in all virtuous Dharmas such as generosity. Through these eight actions, the second ground, the stainless ground, will be attained. Never being satisfied with listening, and giving Dharma without being tainted, purifying all Buddha-fields, never being weary of samsara, having shame and embarrassment, and being without arrogance, these five are. Never being satisfied with listening, means never being satisfied with listening to the Dharma. Giving Dharma without being tainted, means teaching the Dharma with a pure mind, without regard for gain and so on. Purifying all Buddha-fields, means properly purifying the Buddha-fields of the support and the supported. Never being weary of samsara, means never being weary even when treated unfavorably by the beings one has benefited.
