The fifth ground is not dependent on all things. As before, through the completely purified ten actions, the fourth ground, the Radiating Ground, will be attained. Familiarity and attachment to family, as well as places and people that are noisy, self-praise and disparagement of others, and the ten paths of unwholesome actions, being filled with arrogance and perversion, doubt and enduring afflictions. If these ten are completely abandoned, then the fifth ground will be truly attained. The so-called "familiarity" refers to being close to the wealthy and others for the sake of gaining benefits and speaking flattering words falsely. The so-called "attachment to family" refers to not being close to faithful families. The so-called "becoming a noisy place" refers to cities and so on that are filled with people. The so-called "self-praise and disparagement of others" refers to praising oneself and slandering others. The so-called "ten paths of unwholesome actions" refers to the paths of the ten unwholesome actions. The so-called "arrogance" refers to the arrogance of hearing and so on. The so-called "conceit" refers to not submitting to others. The so-called "perversion" refers to clinging to unwholesome views, such as clinging to unwholesome things as wholesome. The so-called "doubt" refers to having doubts about truth, the Three Jewels, karma, and its results. The so-called "enduring afflictions" refers to relying more on desire, hatred, and ignorance, and so on. The so-called "completely abandoning" refers to adding the boundary of the two extremes in all circumstances. A Bodhisattva who abides on the path of completely abandoning these ten will attain the fifth ground, the Difficult to Train Ground. Giving, ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom are completely perfected. For disciples and solitary realizers, abandoning the mind of joy and fear, not being discouraged when begged, not being unhappy even when giving away all possessions, and not abandoning beggars even when poor, therefore, the sixth ground will be truly attained. That is to say, the complete perfection of the six perfections, such as giving, means not abandoning these six dharmas. Similarly, being very happy with the Shravakas, being very happy with the Pratyekabuddhas, and abandoning the mind of fear of becoming accustomed to gatherings for a long time, refers to these three. Whenever the mind is not discouraged, not being unhappy even when giving away all possessions, and not abandoning beggars even when poor.

Thus, through these twelve dharmas, one will attain the manifestation of the sixth bhumi. Grasping at self and sentient beings, life and person, annihilation and permanence, sign and cause, aggregates and elements, sources, etc., attachment to the three realms, the mind being completely dejected, the Three Jewels and discipline, thus manifest clinging to views, arguing about emptiness, and the faults contrary to this, in which twenty are completely severed, he will attain the seventh bhumi. Among these, grasping means manifest clinging, that is, starting with the word 'self' and individually combining the eleven words up to the word 'sources'. Grasping at self, grasping at sentient beings, grasping at life, grasping at person, grasping at annihilation, grasping at permanence, grasping at sign, grasping at cause, grasping at aggregates, grasping at elements, grasping at sources, these are eleven. Attachment to the three realms, the mind being completely dejected, means abiding in the three realms with the body. Attachment to the three realms means with the mind. Sentient beings being completely dejected means both. The Three Jewels and discipline, thus manifest clinging to views, means not relying on seeing the Buddha as the Buddha, not relying on seeing the Dharma as the Dharma, not relying on seeing the Sangha as the Sangha, not relying on seeing discipline as discipline, with the reality of the grasped and the grasper, these are the four aspects. Arguing about emptiness means arguing about the emptiness of all dharmas, which means hesitation. Contrary to this means contrary to emptiness. Thus, being liberated from all twenty faults, in whom the twenty qualities to be proclaimed are completely present, he will attain the distant seventh bhumi. In order to proclaim which ones completely possess the twenty qualities, it is said: knowing the three doors of liberation, the three circles being completely pure, compassion and lack of pride, knowing the equality of dharmas and one way, knowing non-arising and cessation, showing all dharmas in one way, completely destroying conceptualization, and perception.
