It is called abiding. Seeing and meditating, each of the paths, the four kinds of distinctions, the four antidotes. As previously briefly indicated, it is spoken of in terms of this. In entering and returning, the distinctions of what is taken are each, the nature of nine, the reality of the object, one should know the nature of the non-object. Thus, among them, briefly, there are two kinds of distinctions of what is taken. If one thinks about what the object of what is taken is like, then it is said that the nature of reality is not the object, that is, the nature of desiring what is not real. This distinction entering into the object is the aspect to be taken by the Bodhisattva. Returning is the aspect to be abandoned by the Bodhisattva. Also, each is differentiated by the object into nine kinds. After proclaiming the distinction of what is taken, the distinction of what is taken is proclaimed. Sentient beings, real things and imputed existents, the distinction is considered to be the taker. The difference between ordinary beings and noble ones, each of them has nine natures. Thus, entering into another place, the two distinctions are also the object of the taker. How are the two thought of, how is the order, real things and imputed existents, are the distinctions of sentient beings. Among them, the first is ordinary beings, the second is noble ones. They are also each of nine kinds. How is this not the thought of the nature of desiring what is not real, the two distinctions of the taker are the nature of what is not real. These are what are said. If the meaning of what is taken is not like that, by what do they take, thus they have no taker, the characteristic of the nature of emptiness. Thus, by the nature of the taker, they are the distinctions of the taker. These four distinctions are also each said to be of nine kinds. Among them, if one thinks about how the first nine kinds are, then it is said that the nature and lineage, the path is truly accomplished, the object of knowledge is not confused, the unfavorable aspects and the antidotes, self-realization and action, and the result of its action, the support of the entering hand, this distinction is said to be of nine kinds. One should know these.

These are the initial apprehended conceptualizations. "Self-nature" refers to the self-nature of generating the mind of enlightenment, conceptualizing through self-nature. "Lineage" refers to conceptualizing the lineage of perfect and complete enlightenment as lineage. "The path is truly accomplished" refers to the conceptualization of the path being truly accomplished when manifesting the Prajnaparamita. "The object of knowledge is not mistaken" refers to the conceptualization of the object not being mistaken because the object of knowledge is without inherent existence. "Conflicting factors and antidotes" refers to the non-conceptual wisdom being the antidote, and conceptualization being the conflicting factor, conceptualizing the antidote and conflicting factors. "Self-realization" refers to the Dharma of the Hearers and others, and again to the Dharma of the Bodhisattvas being self-realized, conceptualizing self-realization. "Purification and, its action and the result of action," wherein, the Bodhisattva is the discriminator, here conceptualizing the agent. Its action is cultivating the antidote, conceptualizing its action. The result of action is the exhaustion of conflicting factors, conceptualizing the result of action. Abandoning the nine things of the initially apprehended self-nature, are the nine conceptualizations of the initially apprehended. These should be known as being blessed by the aspect of entering through the very nature of what should be taken by self-nature and so on. How does this second apprehended conceptualization also become nine types? To this it is said: "Because of falling into existence and peace, the realization is inferior, not completely grasping, the aspect of the path is incomplete, going by other conditions, the purpose is reversed, transience and variety, confusion about the place and entry, the so-called following, these nine conceptualizations, are the basis of the declining aspect, arising in the minds of Hearers and others." It means, because of falling into existence and peace, the realization is inferior, refers to because of falling into samsara and nirvana, not fully knowing the aspect of existence and peace, the realization is inferior, is the conceptualization of realization.

It is to realize the aspect of inferiority. Without complete acceptance, this means that complete acceptance is the virtuous friend as mentioned above, and it is to realize the aspect of not having complete acceptance. The aspect is incomplete with the path, which means that the path is incomplete in the aspect of the antidote to all obscurations of knowable objects, and it is to realize the aspect of the incomplete path. Going by other conditions, this means that relying on the Tathagatas and others, just by realizing one's own path, it is to realize the aspect of going by others. The action is reversed, which means that without compassion, it is the aspect of the reversed action as it is held. The one with only a small portion means that after abandoning the obscurations of afflictions, only realizing a small portion of the path is to realize the aspect of the near life. The various natures mean that realizing the first fruit and so on is to realize the various aspects. Being ignorant of dwelling and entering, this means being ignorant of dwelling and arising in the good and bad destinies, and it is to realize the aspect of not knowing dwelling and entering. Following after, this means that because one does not fully understand oneself, one follows after the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, which is the aspect of following after, which is the second of the nine categories of what is taken. These realms should also be known as the sleep items to be abandoned by the Bodhisattva.
