A discussion on the characteristics of the Bodhisattva Sangha. The sixteen moments of patience, etc., on the path of seeing are the characteristics of a non-regressing Bodhisattva, which should be known. It means that the Bodhisattva who abides on the path of seeing, as a sign of non-regression, should know that it is the sixteen moments of patience and wisdom. So, what are these sixteen moments? It is said in the scriptures: "Form, etc., aggregates cease, the mind is firm, in inferior vehicles, completely cut off, the limbs of meditation, etc., are completely exhausted, body and mind are light and at ease, skillful means in the practice of desire, constant celibacy, pure living, obstacles such as aggregates, as well as retinues and powers, etc., fighting, stinginess, etc., corresponding and following, each stopping and abiding, not clinging to even a speck of dust in the Dharma, determined in one's own ground, abiding in the three grounds, sacrificing life for the sake of the Dharma." Such sixteen moments are the signs of non-regression for the wise who abide on the path of seeing. The so-called "form, etc., aggregates cease" refers to the conceptual thoughts from form aggregates, etc., until enlightenment, that is, the objects to be realized and the means to realize them cease, which is the patience of the Dharma of arising in the truth of suffering. The so-called "mind is firm" means not being shaken by demons, etc., or the Bodhi mind is firm, which is the patience of the Dharma of arising in the truth of suffering. The so-called "completely cut off in inferior vehicles" means completely abandoning the vehicles of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, which is the patience of the Dharma-category in the truth of suffering. The so-called "the limbs of meditation, etc., are completely exhausted" refers to meditation and formless meditation, etc., all of their limbs, that is, the signs of obtaining them, completely exhausting these and causing them to decline, which is the wisdom of the Dharma-category in the truth of suffering. The so-called "body and mind are light and at ease" means that when the body is light and at ease, the body's actions become light and quick. Mind being light and at ease means being skilled at and overcoming clinging to objects. Both of these are the patience of the Dharma of arising in the truth of accumulation. The so-called "skillful means in the practice of desire" refers to the householder Bodhisattva.
