Then, all dharmas are also of the nature of grasping and being grasped. If it is said that the obscurations of knowledge itself have been exhausted, then how should it be explained? To this, (the sutra) says: Other dharmas also exist, and are also shown in knowledge. What is said to be the exhaustion of obscurations? I am amazed at this. This means that the skandhas of form, etc., exist as real entities, and the obscurations of knowledge of the Buddha Bhagavan who holds these have been exhausted. I am amazed at this. The skandhas of form, etc., can be analyzed, and the obscurations of knowledge fabricated there are due to my ability. Therefore, how do you think the obscurations of knowledge are exhausted? Then, regarding how the obscurations of knowledge are exhausted, (the sutra) says: There is nothing to be removed here, nor is there anything to be added. Look at reality as it is, and you will be liberated when you see it as it is. The "here" mentioned here refers to the emptiness that is completely examined by the division of grasping and being grasped, because all dharmas return to the stream of the non-dual, clear mind. Therefore, there is nothing to be removed from this emptiness. For the nature of the mind that is the basis of it, emptiness will also be removed from there. There is nothing to be added here, referring to the nature of mind, etc. Then what should be done? (The sutra) says to the mind: Look at reality as it is, and you will be liberated when you see it as it is. Seeing is to be realized directly by self-awareness. Reality is to be realized through valid cognition. Reality is suchness, which is the nature of emptiness. Whoever sees reality as it is will be liberated, that is, liberated from the bonds of samsara. After explaining the things that arise from opportunities such as Bodhi, the main thing to be shown is the path of seeing. (The sutra) says: What is it that each of the giving, etc., gathers together? What is gathered by the momentary patience is the path of seeing here. Then, entering the lion's leap samadhi, one contemplates what accords with the principle of dependent origination and what does not accord with the principle of dependent origination. Giving, etc., refers to those ending with seven.

Within one of generosity and so forth, the others are included. Those 'and so forth' refer to the five that are other than oneself. 'Mutually' means one to one. 'Included' refers to this peak realization here. The path of seeing should be realized in a single moment. That is also taken as the moment of the forbearance of the knowledge of dharma in suffering, and it is certain that it is not the others. Here, the path of seeing is said to be the meaning of mind control, which is widely known from the scriptures. Then, like a lion in full stride. In this samadhi, the bodhisattva enters into meditation, and from the twelve links of dependent origination, the arising in order is ignorance conditioning action, and so forth. The non-arising is the cessation of action due to the cessation of ignorance, and so forth. 'To contemplate' means to examine, that is, to speak of the path of seeing. Now, in order to show the progressive absorption of transcendence on this path of meditation, it is said: In the nine absorptions together with cessation, having gone and come in two ways, the consciousness belonging to the desire realm, is bounded by non-meditative equipoise, the progressive absorption is, one and two, three, four and five, six and seven and eight, having transcended, goes differently up to cessation. That is, the consciousness belonging to the desire realm, is bounded by non-meditative equipoise. This means that since all the realms of desire are inherently fluctuating, the boundary is made from the wisdom of discrimination. 'Absorption together with cessation' means having made the absorption of cessation the ultimate. The four dhyanas and the four formless ones. 'Absorption of cessation and so forth' means the nine absorptions. 'Having gone and come' means having gone up to cessation in order to meditate in sequence, starting from the first dhyana. Then, starting again from cessation, in order to meditate in reverse order from the sequence, one comes back to the first dhyana. To know in two ways means the meaning of going and coming in the manner of sequential and reverse order. Having come from cessation to the first dhyana, again, by what one and two, three, four and five, six and seven and eight does one progressively enter into absorption?
