Furthermore, discriminations regarding pure births, etc., are nine types of discriminations that abide in all afflicted objects. Similarly, discrimination regarding the meaning of aggregates, discrimination regarding sources, discrimination regarding elements, discrimination regarding dependent origination, discrimination regarding the meaning of emptiness, discrimination regarding perfections, discrimination regarding the path of seeing, discrimination regarding the path of meditation, and discrimination regarding the path of no more learning are also nine types of discriminations that rely on the objects of the opponent's side. As in, "Self and so on, the nature of independence, likewise, aggregates and so on, the door of dependence, those with a basis of substance and imputation, the aspect of grasping is considered twofold." Among these, there are two types of grasping discriminations: those that abide in the nature of substance and those that abide in the nature of imputation. The nature of substance will also be explained, namely, the distinctions of independence and so on are ninefold, and the discriminations with those as their objects are also ninefold each. Those established as the nature of imputation also rely on the door of aggregates and so on, and there are nine types, with the discriminations having those as their objects also being ninefold. This is what is said, "Likewise," meaning that just as the discriminations of what is grasped are ninefold each, so too are the discriminations of what grasps. That is, discriminating the self as independent, discriminating the self as solitary, discriminating the self as the cause, discriminating the self as the seer, and so on, discriminating the self as all afflictions, discriminating the self as the basis of detachment, discriminating the self as the basis of the path of seeing, discriminating the self as the basis of the path of meditation, discriminating the self as the basis of having accomplished the meaning, these are the nine types of discriminations that rely on the nature of substance. Discriminating aggregates as imputed, discriminating sources as imputed, discriminating elements as imputed, discriminating dependent origination as imputed, discriminating purification as imputed, discriminating the path of seeing as imputed, discriminating the path of meditation as imputed.

The conceptualizations of, and the conceptualizations established on the path of distinction, and the conceptualizations established on the path of no-more-learning, these are the kinds of conceptualizations that abide in the nature of establishment. Previously, the all-embracing that was briefly indicated, now it is time to explain it extensively, so it was said, "The mind not shrinking, etc., shows selflessness, etc., abandoning its opposing qualities, is all-embracing in every way," etc. Among them, "mind" refers to the mind of the learner. "Not shrinking" means not being timid in generating the accumulations of merit and wisdom. Through the word "etc.," it indicates how not to become inferior. Similarly, one who is skilled in the right means, by being skilled in selflessness, shows the awakening of selflessness. Selflessness is emptiness of the established object and subject, but it is not complete annihilation. Through the word "etc.," it also shows the emptiness of merit and both. What is that difference? It was said, "Abandoning its opposing qualities." Among them, the qualities that are not contrary to those of merit and wisdom are stinginess, etc., and ignorance, etc. Abandoning those means abandoning those non-contrary qualities and showing the accumulations of merit and wisdom. Those who closely generate them, the difference of the person who is free from the faults of stinginess, etc., is the meaning of the virtuous friend who is truly all-embracing. Now, the basis of practice is to be explained, practice is the conduct of the basis of enlightenment. The basis is the foundation. That itself said, "The six dharmas of realization, antidotes and abandonment, etc., those completely relying on, wisdom combined with compassion, the disciple's uncommon nature, the order of benefiting others, and wisdom without effort, the basis of entering is called lineage." Among them, the basis of practice of the nature of the thirteen dharmas of realization, such as warmth, etc., is lineage, that is, the bodhisattva who first generates the mind of enlightenment. The unestablished itself in the realm of dharma is not a real lineage, but it is called lineage because it is the object. In the sense of cause, it is the meaning of lineage.
