Words. The term "you" refers to you. Thus, your name and the names of your parents, etc., and up to seven generations of ancestors are this. When you become a fully enlightened Buddha, then your name will only be this. The qualities you have cultivated, having truly received them, even in previous lives become exactly like this, so you will undoubtedly become a Buddha, the demon declares, therefore know that holding pride is unpredicted. This is what is said. Dwelling in solitude means that "extremely solitary" etc. occur. "Completely incited by the demon" means blessed by the demon. If it were not so, merely dwelling in uninhabited villages etc. would not lead to arrogance. What is the common solitude of Bodhisattvas? It is mentioned, "always villages" etc. "Except" means that with compassion, only ripening all sentient beings and with wisdom uniting with enlightenment. It is thought that even though dwelling in villages etc., the mind is not attached to the happiness of existence. "Not increasing" means never rejoicing in the vehicle of Arhats and Pratyekabuddhas, this is its synonym. "This is said to be solitude" means that it is solitude because it is not attached to existence and peace. Other than that, even if dwelling in extremely solitary places, it is only dwelling like a ghost. Therefore, "whoever" etc. is mentioned. "This" refers to the solitude just mentioned. To show the object of excessive pride, "Bodhisattva for the benefit of beings" etc. is said. "To him" refers to the Bodhisattva practicing in the village. "Despising" means to offer specially. If asked how to despise, then "this is solitary" etc. is mentioned. Therefore, of the two practices in villages and solitary places, because the solitude mentioned earlier is the most excellent, "whoever in the village" etc. is mentioned. To show the greatness of this nature, "Bodhisattva gentle" etc. is said. Enlightenment

Any bodhisattva who is weary and contemptuous of such solitude will only end up deteriorating and being destroyed because of relying on other solitudes. This is just a saying that the body is tired and fruitless. The sign of relying on a noble spiritual friend is that, like a sick person relying on a doctor, one destroys arrogance and respectfully serves the virtuous spiritual friend without discouragement. Therefore, it is said, "Therefore," and so on. "For healing" means for healing, just as a crowd of sick people respectfully serve a doctor, one should rely on a virtuous spiritual friend. This is what it means. What is it then? It is said, "Buddha," and so on. Which are the Buddhas, which are the Bodhisattvas, and which are the six perfections, those are the virtuous spiritual friends. Why is that? It is said, "They are the guides," and so on. "They" refers to the Buddhas, and so on. "This" refers to the nature of the six perfections. "With two causes" means with the two causes of guiding and the nature of one's own practice. Among practices, the most important is wisdom, so the sign of striving for supreme wisdom is that, because the only path of all Sugatas is to strive only for the Perfection of Wisdom. It is said, "The gone victor," and so on. "Clear" means to make clear, this is in terms of omniscient knowledge. "Lamp" arises from the cause of knowing the path. "Light" is to thoroughly show the self-nature of omniscient knowledge. "Supreme Teacher" is because of subduing afflictions and protecting other Bodhi. The sign of realizing that all dharmas are without difference is because one completely determines the nature of all dharmas as the Perfection of Wisdom, having the same nature. "How" and so on arise in this way, "Nature empty" refers to the form of clinging and so on. "All these dharmas" and so on.

It refers to forms and so on. The term "knowing as it is" means being devoid of aspects such as clinging to them as they are. To clarify this, "emptiness" and so on are mentioned. It is said here that hidden things are not clinging itself, because not understanding the function of one's own nature, it cannot be fully established as clinging itself. Not understanding one's own nature is not the object of the expression of existence. If this were the case, then it would follow that everything exists in the nature of everything. It cannot be established by cutting off the object either, because the connection between the hidden self and the cognition of the object is not established. If it does not exist, it will not arise, and if it is not fully established, then nothing is a sign of anything, because it would lead to confusion. If it is said that there is no clinging, then it is unreasonable to cut off the nature of one's own substance, then it is not, because it is impossible without understanding those subsequent connections. The material nature of the object does not abandon its own nature, so even if there is clinging, how will it be known? However, if its own nature disappears, then only the self that one knows will arise, so cutting off its appearance, then clinging will only become the cause of producing its nature. This is not undesirable either, because autonomous cognition also depends on others, so it is admitted to arise. If it is said that the clinging of "I know" is not autonomous because the experiencer knows, so the experience of blue and other aspects is not autonomous, then it is not, because the conceptualization without such experience does not follow its sign, just like the conceptualization of learning, because it is not valid, and it is also harmed by validity, because the appearance of blue and so on appears devoid of other actions. All worldly expressions rely solely on appearance and conceptualization, and both of these are the nature of self-awareness, so there is no need to remove the labor of other investigations that are hidden by the clinging one. If so, then the aspect of clinging is directly perceived.
