Because there is no accumulation of wealth for enjoyment, life is pure; because there is no use of violence with an afflicted mind; because there is no association with things like subjugating women, the actions of the body are sacred; because of abandoning things like declaring whether one will become a boy or a girl, pure actions are not afflicted; because of realizing that all things are naturally in nirvana, one strives for solitary wisdom; because of understanding that the essence is inherently peaceful, one is free from fighting and the like; because one has the intention to also accomplish excellent Dharma in other beings' minds, one teaches loving-kindness; because of the realization that only this is the definite liberation, and not desiring other enlightenments, one desires omniscience and is devoted to its teachings; because of abandoning border areas and the like, one has power over birth; because of realizing the Dharma with reason, one is certain that one will not turn back, so one has no doubt about oneself; because one's realization is like Mount Meru, one is immovable; if one realizes that only this is the definite liberation, and therefore is willing to give up one's life, one delights in the sacred Dharma. These are the patience and knowledge of each truth, and should be viewed in accordance with what is appropriate, through the aspects of impermanence and so on. Those who abide on the path of meditation, how do they become accustomed to seeing the profound Dharma? Therefore, things like form are mentioned. "Without characteristics" means that by nature there are no characteristics that can become form and so on. "Peaceful" means that it is the nature of emptiness and wishlessness, and therefore it is considered profound. For example, with arrows and so on, just like at the bottom of the ocean, in the manner described, those who do not find the bottom of the aggregates of wisdom and so on should be known as those who do not turn back. In order to show that asking about this quality is the preliminary, "Which Bodhisattva" and so on are said. "Profound" means that it is difficult to measure its depth. "Vehicle" refers to the Bodhi of

It is because it is the path. The ultimate truth is because it is the realm of supreme wisdom. Undefiled is because it is pure by nature. Moreover, since it shows the selflessness of phenomena, it mentions "to what" and so on. The so-called "to what" is connected to "to what kinds of phenomena." In order to show the measure of merit, it speaks of "for example" and so on. The metaphor of a man following attachment is to show that when he meets a woman, many discriminations arise in him. The so-called "will obtain" is a concluding remark that with a little moment of wisdom, one can manifest the merit to be accumulated in those many eons. The habituation to the profound Dharma also has three kinds of distinctions: small, medium, and large. Among them, the small one is because even other excellent things such as generosity are surpassed by just the generosity of the Dharma of wisdom. Therefore, "which Bodhisattva" and so on appear. The so-called "Arhat, Pratyekabuddha" is a summary term for Arhats and solitary Buddhas. The medium one is because the giving of Dharma, which arises from the cause of that wisdom perfection, is completely dedicated to perfect enlightenment and is superior to all the merits of the three realms. Therefore, "which Bodhisattva" and so on appear. The great one is because even for such an excellent accumulation of merit, one completely holds immeasurable uncontaminated merit by thinking of accumulation and so on. Therefore, "that merit also" and so on appear. Accumulation is because it is devoid of characteristics such as being suitable for form. Emptiness is because it is empty of aspects such as suffering. Nourishing is because it is without characteristics. Yama-bhrla is because it is dependently arising. Without essence is because it is free from grasping and so on. The so-called "if there is no other" is because it is only a negation, so words such as measurable are not applicable. Thus, that very reality, because it is without discrimination, is it not the case that terms such as "immeasurable" are also not applicable?
