It is not the case that grasping and naming it as that birth. Although they each have the nature of different causes, it is because they have a nature that is different from that which is born from the earth, etc., that they are named as such. If the cause and effect were the same, then because they are devoid of the difference of self and the difference of function, they would not be a cause or an effect at all. For all sentient beings, the continuum of seeing the difference between cause and effect would be cut off. Although the fruit appears as a nature that is not born from the earth, etc., its cause will not increase either, because the earth itself and the different nature that is contemplated are no different except in being different from different kinds. Similarly, the stream of wisdom that arises from consciousness, as mentioned before, will not be exhausted, because nothing completely grasps its nature. It will not increase either, because there is no difference in terms of the characteristic of being devoid of constant grasping, etc. The three causes of perfect enlightenment have been explained. Enlightenment is the nature of the exhaustion of obscurations and non-arising, and these are also the nature of realizing that there is no exhaustion and no arising in dependent origination, and not those who, having abandoned obscurations, become the object of non-arising, because all phenomena are empty of inherent existence. The wisdom that is practiced on the path of seeing is also the antidote to ignorance because it is the object of the nature of selflessness in dependent origination. It is said that a Bodhisattva is someone who, etc. The term "unborn" refers to someone who understands that there is no arising in dependent origination, and who understands that there is no exhaustion in this, then this wisdom will attain self-arising. It is not something else, but it is thought that it is because it is obscured by the cataract of ignorance. The term "destroyed" refers to having removed the thick darkness of ignorance, which is the opposite of all the perfections, and having become the object of the self-nature of suchness. If one relies only on wisdom, how can one abandon the opposing factors of other perfections?
