Also, in order not to become arrogant, there arise statements such as "worldly occurrences." Those who possess benefit and compassion are those who do not desire acquisitions and so forth. Arrogance is clinging to characteristics such as "I am irreversible." The arrogance that goes before is manifest arrogance, but even those with manifest arrogance are not irreversible. Therefore, it is said, "If" and so forth. "That" refers to the Bodhisattva. In order to show the nature of arrogance, it is said, "I am prophesied," and so forth. Why? Because it is said, "The blessing of truth," and so forth. "Attainment" means that it will be accomplished. Because "mine" is the remainder. "Prophesied by others" means that the demon prophesied that one will become a Buddha. In order to show that in detail, it is said, "From the root of the name," and so forth. Whoever has only the root name is called "Thus it is said," saying is the distinction. In order to show that, it is said, "Thus it is said," and so forth. In "the lineage of seven ancestors," "this" is the remainder. "When you become a Buddha" is synonymous with "when it is accomplished." "You" means yours. Thus it is said, your name and that of your parents, etc., and the names between the seven generations of ancestors are "this." When you become a fully enlightened Buddha, then your name will only be "this." The qualities you have cultivated, having been properly taken up, even in the previous life have become exactly like this, so the demon said that you will undoubtedly become a Buddha, therefore, clinging to arrogance, know that it is not prophesied. Dwelling in solitude means the appearance of "utterly solitary," and so forth. "Completely instigated by the demon" means blessed by the demon. If it were not so, merely dwelling in uninhabited villages, etc., would not be without arrogance. Which is the solitude that is common to Bodhisattvas

If so, it is always mentioned "village" and so on. The meaning of "except" is that it is only to fully mature sentient beings with compassion and to combine them with Bodhi through wisdom. It is thought that even if one lives in a village or the like, the mind will not be attached to the happiness of samsara. The meaning of "no longer arising" is that one will never be happy with the Hearer and Solitary Realizer vehicles, which is its summary. The meaning of "this is solitude" is that it is solitude because it is not attached to samsara and nirvana. Other than that, some people, although living in a very solitary place, are only living among ghosts. Therefore, "whoever" and so on are mentioned. "This" refers to the solitude just mentioned. In order to show the object of excessive pride, it is said "Bodhisattva for the benefit of beings" and so on. "Among them" refers to the Bodhisattva who practices in the village. "Contempt" means to especially respect. How is it? "This is solitude" and so on are mentioned. Therefore, among the two practices in villages and solitary places, since the solitude mentioned before is the most excellent, "whoever is in the village" and so on are mentioned. In order to show the great nature of this, it is said "Bodhisattva lukewarm" and so on. Which Bodhisattva is lukewarm and contemptuous of such solitude, that is because he relies on other solitude, so he will only degenerate and be destroyed, which is the summary of physical exhaustion and meaninglessness. The sign of relying on a virtuous friend is that, like a patient relying on a doctor, one destroys arrogance, does not feel bored, and respectfully serves the virtuous friend. Therefore, "therefore" and so on are mentioned. "For healing" means for healing, just as a crowd of patients respectfully serve a doctor, one should rely on a virtuous friend, which is its summary. Then, who is that? "Buddha" and so on are mentioned. Which are the Buddhas, which are the Bodhisattvas, and which are the six perfections, those are the virtuous friends.

English

It is so. Why is that? Because it has been said, "They follow and show," and so on. "They" refers to the Buddhas and so on. "This" refers to the nature of the six perfections. "By two causes" refers to the meaning of the two causes of the nature of following and showing and self-accomplishment. The accomplishment of that is mainly wisdom, so the sign of diligence in supreme wisdom is that the path of all Sugatas is one, and for that reason alone, it is diligence in the perfection of wisdom. "The Victorious One has passed away," and so on, has been said. "Clear" means to make clear, which is due to the omniscient nature. "Lamp" is because it arises from the cause of knowing the path. "Light" is because it fully manifests in the nature of omniscience. "Supreme Teacher" is because he subdues afflictions and protects other Bodhis. The sign of realizing that all dharmas are not different is that the nature of all dharmas is determined as one nature in the perfection of wisdom. How and so on arise, the nature of emptiness refers to the aspects of grasping and so on. All these dharmas refer to form and so on. Knowing that it is similar to that nature means that it is separated from the aspects of grasping and so on, just like that. In order to make that clear, emptiness and so on have been said. It is said in this way that concealment is not grasping, and not understanding the function of self is not fully established as grasping. Not understanding one's own nature is not the object of existing terms, because if that were the case, it would become the nature of everything and exist in everything. It is also not fully established in the way that the object is completely determined, because the connection between the hidden self and the object and consciousness is not established. If it does not exist, then it does not arise and is not fully established, then nothing is the object of any sign, because it would be too broad. If there is no grasping, then it is one's own
