arises. The second type of beings to be tamed are the Bodhisattvas, to whom the Sambhogakaya appears. It appears there only to the tenth-level Bodhisattvas. Others say that it appears from the eighth level onwards. Still others say that it appears to all beings through the power of aspirations and the accumulation of great merit, but it does not appear to those who are attached to the appearance of Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Therefore, in the Sutra of Profound Faith in the Noble Mahayana, it is said, "In his retinue, he shows gods, nagas, yakshas, non-humans, etc." It is said that this refers to those people who consider the Nirmanakaya to be the Sambhogakaya and value it. The inferior beings to be tamed are the Sravakas, etc., in whose realm only the Nirmanakaya appears. "Etc." refers to those who are uncertain and have not entered any fruit. Moreover, once the warm stage is attained, the Nirmanakaya is always seen, as stated in the sutra, "Seeing the Buddha, etc." Even if the warm stage, etc., has not been attained, it is not to be denied that it is seen a few times. In the Joyful Land, etc., because all dharmas are seen, one tends to think that the Dharmakaya is seen, as stated in the sutra, "The form that appears there, etc., is determined to be the Buddha himself." "Although not different" refers to its own nature. "Established as different" refers to the fact that it appears to be different due to the difference in its power. Therefore, for children, there seem to be many contradictions, but in reality there are no contradictions, because the Dharmadhatu is inconceivable, so it cannot be refuted. In any case, the two truths should not be refuted by each other because they contradict each other. Do not make the two contradict each other with your own discrimination. Therefore, here, in the stage of ordinary beings, the impure Dharmadhatu appears in various discriminations as something that does not exist, while in the realm of the Buddha, Samantabhadra, the completely pure Suchness itself appears as various things. Thus, in terms of the Dharmakaya itself, the noble Nagarjuna

Before the venerable one, he said: Not one, not many, not self, not other, as the basis of the perfect and vast benefit of others. Neither existent nor nonexistent, not like existing things, like the sky, one taste, with a nature difficult to realize. Without elaboration and without change, peaceful and without comparison, with the nature of pervading all things, that is without elaboration. Each individually self-aware, the Dharmakaya of the Buddhas, is unparalleled, to that I prostrate. Thus he praised. Furthermore, he also explained the nature of this. Secret Lord, how can one manifest and accomplish all that is needed for the non-conceptual Dharmadhatu? Secret Lord, for example, the realm of space is neither sentient being, nor life, nor born of strength, nor agent, nor feeler, nor object, nor subject, and is free from all discriminations and various discriminations, yet all beings in the realm of sentient beings, whether going or coming, etc., are all accomplished by it, and there is no doubt about this. Similarly, for the non-conceptual, the all-knowing one, who is omnipresent, the inner and outer of sentient beings, all will surely be accomplished. Thus it is said. The so-called Dharmakaya, when establishing the four bodies, the body of the possessor of Dharma is the Dharmakaya, because the possessor of Dharma of self-nature previously mentioned does not refer to this. When the three bodies are spoken of, it is established as the abbreviated Svabhavikakaya, because the Svabhava and the possessor of Dharma are established as different. The nature of non-elaborate wisdom is what was said before. Because that non-elaboration is also shown to exist in many forms, it is said to have the nature of mindfulness, etc., etc. refers to the immeasurable and other one hundred and four Dharmas of the Buddha. If it has so many forms like this, then how can it be called non-elaborate wisdom? Therefore, it is said to be without outflows, the so-called outflows, in some places, are also regarded as afflictions, such as "exhaustion of outflows" and so on. It is also understood here that for those who have not specifically eliminated afflictions, in a latent state, such as the slight afflictions existing in the continuum of the Bodhisattvas of the tenth ground, they will be exhausted in the Buddha ground.
